Maybe letting Gardener go wasn't such a bad thing.

Redskins | Gardener Hurting - posted at KFFL (http://nfl.kffl.com)
19:42 PT: Jason Gould reports for Redskins.com DT Daryl Gardener (back spasms) missed practice Tuesday. He was taken to a specialist in Virginia for further evaluation. Trainer Dean Kleinschmidt did not put a timetable on Gardener's return, saying it's possible he could play this weekend, if the spasms stop.

Well, at least we now know that our run D wasn't going to be any better had we kept him. Can't do much lying in bed with back spasms.

2003, it was D.G's mouth, and overall attitude that got him canned, not his back. Had he kept his nose clean he would still be here...the thing is, when you can't perform because of an ailment, it sort of defeats the purpose of playing.

However, a certain DT by the name of Chester is hurting now too...so we don't have any room to talk really.

im not dissing him for his back spasms. but here is reality. they wanted gardener to take a pay cut and cut his playing time down so he could save his back. then gardener said "no way!" thats when the trouble started. u cant pay a guy 6 mil to have serious back probs and play only six games before it gives way! take the pay cut like timbo did and suck it up!!!!!!!!
