Garo Yepremian's FIRST pass attempt?

I came across this video of the Dolphins-Cardinals 1972 Monday Night Football broadcast...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8nbj8ewyaZQ

At 37:00 in Garo Yepremian has a field goal attempt blocked, when he picks up the loose ball it sure looks like he makes a ridiculous attempt to throw it...the replay shows it a bit clearer.

This is just a month-and-a-half before his infamous pass in Super Bowl VII...you would think some coach would have looked at the film and told him not to try it again...

Lmao. Some people never learn.

On a side note...what an awesome Youtube channel. I'm gonna relive some of the glory days now...

Garo must have forgotten about this one. I was recently watching an old Football Follies where his infamous Super Bowl "pass" against the 'Skins was featured in the top 10. In an interview he said that the Super Bowl blunder was his first ever pass attempt, but if he actually practiced throwing the ball, he was certain the outcome would have been entirely different.

yea and he never got a chance to throw this pass

I was watching the "Longest Game Ever," the Christmas Day game between the Chiefs and Dolphins in 1971. They were talking about Garo Yepremian, and they said in the offseason he was a Tie salesman. I am sure kickers didn't make much back then.
