Garrard's take on Ryan Clark comments

I dont know who these guys are you are referring to, point is, not that a pig is a pig, but Gerrard, the newest member of the Fins, is sticking up for the team when longtime tenured Miami players havent said a word, and thats credit that goes a long way with me.

Maybe you missed what I said. What I said is that you're gonna say good words about the guy who's buttering your bread if that guy is the only one offering to pay you. If Burnitz and Randa had options, they wouldn't have signed with the Pirates (and probably would have bad-mouthed them in private). Same goes for Garrard.

They should've said it then, everybody can pile on, all of those guys that said anything have their opinions but please be a professional when you give it, Ireland has did some good things for the organization and some bad things, we the fans scrutinize every move that we don't like even before the player even played a game, you didn't like reggie bush in march but you loved him in september. I imagine it's a hard job to attain talent especially when you don't have cap space, and the player really don't want to be in miami for any reason. Now when the fins goes 11-5 then i'll be seeing all of the accolades for the moves that were made, in short just let every thing play out.

Our team has no leaders, all the crap being talked about this team and it takes a guy who has been here 48 hrs. to defend us. Pathetic !!!

It's a humbling experience being informed during a job interview, maybe a little too bluntly, that if you thought your skill set commanded a pay grade commensurate with the best and most desirable practitioners in your field, the realities of the marketplace see you differently.

Some can learn from the experience, use it constructively to commit to improve, while others are inclined to fixate blame on the messenger and conveniently ignore the accurate message; It's human nature. :idk:

Did you expect Garrard to say anything else?

Garrard didn't have to say anything at all. As for me, it's about effing time a Dolphins player opened his mouth to say something positive and stick up for the team, and Garrard hasn't even met his teammates yet. Welcome to the Miami Dolphins, David.

What better player to address the notionthat big name FAs want no part of Miami but Gerrard. It's also a little odd that he would be the only player to address it. Where is the rest of the team.

So what big name free agents want no part of Miami?

Peyton had interest. Even if it was minor he was willing to listen. He wouldn't even listen to eight or ten teams.

Alex Smith was only ever seriously going to consider leaving SF if they landed Manning. He also had interest in Miami, he came and listened.

Eric Winston had interest. Matt Flynn had interest. Just because they didn't sign does not mean they never had any intentions of doing so. Ireland mentioned in his interview that it isn't just players deciding on Miami, Miami is also deciding on players. We offer them what we feel is a fair deal, if they accept it and are happy then they'll sign. If another team offers them more money then they'll go there. It isn't rocket science. Miami snub players just as players snub Miami. If Jeff and the F.O. believe there are better and cheaper options to be had in the draft then so be it. That's the plan and we'll stick with it.

Quite frankly, this whole notion that nobody wants to come to Miami is absolute b/s. What Jeff Ireland upset Ryan Clark by offering him a contract which we thought he was worth so now every F.A. hates him? This whole thing has been blown out of context by the media, who are just looking for stories and things to talk about.

What other big name F.A.'s have we pursued who have flat out told us no?

You really can't think that! The vet min for a qb is around a million per year. You guts are taking the word of a guy that just signed, and denying or ignoring the wood and actions of Harbaugh, Fisher, Zimmer, Manning, Smith, and many more.

Harbaugh was never leaving California.

Fisher was very complimentary about Ireland. He even said he'd like to take him to St.Louis with him. Fisher didn't sign because we wouldn't offer him the control he wanted, STL did.

Manning met with the Fins. It just wasn't the right fit for him for whatever reason, although Peyton is one of the most classy guys you'll find throughout the whole league and I can assure you he had no problem with Ireland.

Smith was not leaving SF unless Peyton went there.

Garrard is new and just got some money. So he will say anything.

Give Garrard a year in this mess in Miami and he will be singing a different tune in early 2013 when he's released, if not sooner. I guarantee you he won't be ringing same sentiments at that time

The Dolphins should just release a public response to Ryan Clark, quoting Tupac in "Hit 'Em Up:"

"Don't one of you n***** got sickle cell or something?"

Followed by:

"Go play in Denver, *******."

Garrard seems to have changed his tune from 6 months ago when he was happy enough to have a pop at the Dolphins front office in public

But now he's seen the error of someone else's ways :)

Thank God Ireland didn't give him the money he wanted, because two weeks later he ended up with back surgery. Look, likes the all evil GM played his cards right again. Ireland is to real with these cry baby as NFL players. They don't like it when you tell them how it its. (Clark you are overrated, you don't deserve top 5 safety money. Joey Porter you are loud mouth and you have nothing left, Dez your dad is a pimp and your mom works for him? Is she a prostitute? I need to know because I already traded for one headache case WR, don't need two of yall. Channing you plain suck buddy, no two ways about it. ) And the guy I replace you with had a better season, than you have had in your career.

DAVID GARRARD IS A BETTER QB THAN MATT FLYNN.

i dunno about Garrard being better than Flynn.. at least now. But that's the thing with Flynn.. very few knew how good he was excepting a few including our new HC. Importantly he's not on our roster. So is it possible he can turn out to be a stud we regret passing on like Rodgers and Brees?? (don't give me the melting Matty routine until he can gut it up and win something somewhere involving sudden death elimination). Could happen and I was all for signing him if Philbin wanted it. But with only 2 teams interested at a QB starting salary, there's more of a likelihood he'll turn into another Kolb, AJ Feeley, Scott Mitchell, etc. But regardless, anyone right now who'd rather have the modern day version of Garrard rather than Flynn, sight unseen, I'd disagree with!

I think Ireland is way too blunt - probably doesn't sufficiently filter what passes between his mind and lips. You're absolutely right: a too candid, slow-witted, already problematic candidate informed Ireland that his dad was a pimp and his mom, a known incarcerated crackhead felon, worked for his dad. Ireland probably should have said something like: "I'll bet she was a poultry farmer who sometimes worked in a quarry since she's obviously raised a lot of cokks for profit, and knows her way too well around rocks of cocaine!" But he didn't and Silver manipulated a slow-witted impressionable hood rat into making a mountain out of a molehill for his own aggrandizement by throwing Bryant and his "family" under the bus in order to make his own journalistic bones. It is what it is.

Yeah, Ryan Clark has a ton of personal problems, with his sickle-cell trait and whatnot. You're an idiot if you think Ryan Clark is an ass. Unlike some people around here, I have seen him play and interact with the fanbase for the past 6 years. He's an absolute choir boy. When you call someone who isn't a jagoff a jagoff, maybe it's you who's the jagoff.

So the guy talking about trying to put players to sleep is a great guy??? ok...thanks for playing

Ryan Clark single handily cost his team a playoff game against the worst qb to ever make the playoffs. He knows how badly he sucks so he has attack someone else.
