i just got done keying the starting defense...two guys really stick out as sore spots...guyton and trusnick...trusnick didn't get off one block all damn night...if you can find an instance where he did just let me know...

guyton is lost...that much is very apparent...lost in coverage lost in run support...lost

if either of these guys have to play when we play for keeps lb will be a gaping wound...

I'll agree. I thought Trusnick looked good last week against the 2/3's...but playing with the 1's shows that he really isn't very good at all. I was disappoointed. I was glad he got his shot....well, he's had it...now we can move along.

Problem is, we have nobody as a backup at this point. THEY ALL SUCK. Spitler? Really?

there's not a backup lb in that building worth a damn...none of em can play in base d...none of em

As for Guyton, I was hoping he would be better. He simply looks slow...

Then perhaps when Dansby and Burnett(along with Wake) return to the starting lineup, the defense won't suck as much as they did last night.

And we are going to keep at least Kaddu, and so far he looks like a complete bust to me (I wanted Carder anyway...So, I might be biased.)

That won't suddenly make Guyton and Trusnic any better....stay on topic.

There is not a lot of B/UPs that have played well over the two games for us, so i will wait and see with the last two games before i get into this............

they won't...but guys have to play assignment football and when the play comes to them make the play...the first running play from deangelo where he broke it outside chris clemons is there at the los just about presnap for just that purpose after the snap he takes a couple step back but is late to come up and by the time he does deangelo with his wheels gets away from his diving arm tackle at the los...clemons doesn't take those false steps and makes solid contact that plays stuffed at the los or at least a short gain cause vernon would have cleaned up...

solia starks and odrick looked good...i'm liking odrick at end on passing downs less and less though...vernon and shelby will be in the rotation and i'm pretty happy with what i see from both against the run...very happy with shelby...vernons pass rush needs more versatility though...you're not gonna just overpower guys with strength at this level...koa misi can tell him that

sean smith lack of balance on the boundary is a problem...every time a wr puts his foot in the ground or gears down he has to take extra false steps cause he lacks balance...when we play for keeps he's gonna wear a target...i'd seriously go with marshall and vontae the starting corners...would also help in run support

there's another thing that was very apparent concerning the backup lbs...none of em have the wheels to cover these backs out of the backfield...it's just pitch and catch...

on another note i wish like hell we had that silotalu kid the left guard the panthers have their 2nd round pick playing left guard for us instead of incog...what a terrific looking player he is...

Nubs never said anything about Guyton and Trusnick being better with them in the game, he's talking about the whole defense.

Never said that would make those two players better. In fact I said perhaps the defense would be much better once they were replaced with the real starters. Hope that clears things up for you.

Vontae Davis showed last night why he needs to be a starter. Dude is just good.

How many corners can go 1v1 with Steve Smith in the strength department and actually push him around? Revis maybe? IDk but damn Davis was ballin last night

The starters aren't all that either.

So Dansby and Burnett won't be on better than Trusnick and Guyton?

Is the whole defense the topic? As I said, stay on topic...

the defense as a whole will get better with dansby wake and burnett...absolutely...but what you're gonna have is teams attacking your weaknesses and scheming for them...chris clemons in vertical coverage is an issue guy can't find the ball reshad jones looks a little timid right now against the pass probably worried about taking too flat angles to the ball which he did last year...sean smith i'm tellin ya teams can't wait to go after...misi is learning but i think he's gonna be attacked in coverage down the field til he proves he can handle it...and we got to got to find someone opposite wake at de who can win one on one pass rush matchups and at least provide pressure on passing downs...or we'll get chewed up and spit out in coverage
