So every season under Gase, Miami has gotten rid of players During the season which I guess was to send a message to the team. Mind you these aren’t you’re bottom of the roster JAGs getting cutting during the season but actual starters.

2016 he cut Dallas Thomas, Jamil Douglas and Billy Turner loose. Rightfully so.

Last year he trades Jay Ajayi and cuts Byron Maxwell. Some People still question Ajayi trade (btw he’s already barking in Philadelphia about playcalling), not so much on letting Maxwell go.

Now this season...Jordan Philips jettisoned. Looks like Devante Parker could be next and I think his finger injury was legit but this quad imo is a facade for really trying to preserve him for a trade.

So what does this mean? Well that’s what the point of this thread is hopefully. Are these moves something well respected coaches in the league have done before? Wasn’t the knock on Philbin that he couldn’t handle players with personalities they couldn’t control? Isn’t that what’s happening now with Gase, except it’s not only happening in the offseason but during the season too.

Mods can you fix the typo in the title? Thanks

Up there in Boston there seems to be malcontent between coach, star QB and star TE and they still score 76 points in the last two games. Our coaches sent those players packing. And then we lose. And lose some more.

They usually still keep it strictly business on the field and then fight off the field and in house. Miami apparently can’t do that.

Let's see if anything happens this year.

So far we cut Jordan Phillips. Sometimes you have to cut people.

I’m still not sure why Miami cut him. Because he wasn’t being a team player and was complaining about lack of snaps or because Miami was just tired of waiting for him to take the next snap? Guess it’s probably both.

That one makes me think there were issues behind the scenes that we'll never know.

Chip Kelly did something like this in Philly, worked wonders for his career.

Well, NE has a Hall of Fame coach, QB, and tight end. Even their off the field drama isn’t enough to get in the way of their talent— and it helps that the rest of the division self-destructs annually.

Meanwhile, Miami’s head coach, QB, and tight end— hell any player outside of one RB whose glory years are well behind him— are certainly not Hall of Famers, nor has Miami drafted a Hall of Famer in over 20 years.

A team with all-time greats can handle some strife. The Dolphins fall apart from just the pressure of taking the field in NE.
