Gase says Tunsil was cross between embarrassment and "I'm missing a game because of this?"

Hal Habib ‏@gunnerhal 7m7 minutes ago
Gase says he knew Albert might not be able to go Thursday. As they got more info, decided no chance he could go. Lost 12 pounds.

Gase on James "You know, out of say 50 plays, he is real good on 45 of them but 5 are real bad"

Can't sugar coat a 10 percent negative play rate on any tackle.

Adam Gase says Branden Albert sickness not spreading. Team knows what it is but isn't saying for HIPA issues.

Gase on why Turner at LT, not Bushrod: Bushrod has played RG since arrived, didn't want to slide him over to LT.

The Dolphins originally weren't going to activate Anthony Steen but did so when Tunsil went out.

Gase: Everybody wants to blame that position. It's easiest one. ... When you get hit, on your back, not much you can do about it.

I asked Gase if he could make a decision on RT if the pass pro is like this the entire year. Said it's way too early to think about that.

Gase on one sack, won't blame just James. Says everyone was wrong on that play.

Hal Habib ‏@gunnerhal 4m4 minutes ago
Gase says he was encouraged by the way Ajayi ran, made guys miss.

Gase said it was "probably the worst we've had as far as missed tackles" which is terrible because it's been bad previously.

Gase, asked why Ja'Wuan James is no longer good: "To say he's not good is a little extreme." 5.5 sacks allowed in 5 games

Adam Gase asked if anyone stood out on defense. Pause. Hmmm. Haw. Reshad Jones maybe.

Gase on building D to protect a lead: It's one thing to stop run, another to stop it for 50-60 plays. It wears on those guys.

Gase continuing with the narrative of the D being on the field too much causing their ineffectiveness.

But they looked bad at 0-0 as well.

He is not wrong, and maybe there is some private frustration being told to him, but that unit has been awful.

This Tunsil thing is so depressing. I can't believe how sick Albert is. Wtf?

We definitely should explore Bushrod at a tackle spot since that's what he was.. Turner may have been better with practice reps but still damn.. honestly think we should consider all options. Stern at center and Pouncey at a guard spot. Why not? How much worse could it be

Adam Gase found our obsession with the O-line comical during training camp. He ain't laughing now.

I think most would disagree. He is bad. Over a sack a game is not good.

You know, during the game thread we were joking after Grant's special teams TD saying the D would probably "complain" because it was too quick a score, and they were tired. Sure enough, the very next drive they allowed a TD.

At what point is the whole "we're getting tired" excuse from the D valid when it's happening in the first or second quarter of games? Does this team have conditioning issues?

I mean, the offense is putrid, no doubt about it, but this defense is not much better.

:yap:

Over him. He's clueless and unfit for the job. And on top of it all, I don't trust a head coach that is so completely hands off on the defense like he is.

This Statement right here.... is what makes me question this guy's football knowledge. How about NOT GET HIT AND END UP ON YOUR BACK! How about sensing and avoiding the pressure, how about scambling when Sh** breaks down. How about not just sitting back there like a statue taking hits and pointing at the obviously bad oline everytime it happens. How about taking your health into your own damn hands? How about BEING A GOT DAMN PLAYMAKER instead of JAG (Just Another Guy)

Adam Gase is asked, "Is it normal to shower 4-5 hours before a game?" This is my kind of press conference. Finally.
