Tony Lippett is the starter right now Adam Gase says

Gase says his offense sputtered like this early in '12 and '15 and both teams offense improved during season.

Gase isn't sure if there will be more lineup changes. Says he doesn't think team is "off course."

Gase everybody want to say "sky is falling but we have to keep working at it."

Gase says he thought Pouncey was going to "choke me out in the plane last night" because he didn't play.

Ryan Tannehill does need improved pocket presence per Adam Gase. Also needs better blocking.

Gase says it's too early to say which guys who were out last night will be back next week.

Gase said Pouncey will be back at practice Monday, ... Said Maxwell didn't play at all because wanted to roll with Lipett and Howard.

I bet Gase would rather be hanging out with Peyton eating Papa Johns right now. Team is in disarray and he doesn't have any real answers.

Here is what I think is an important question. We know Gase had final call on the 53 I wonder how much input he was allowed in the draft?

I think the coaching staff had more input then we think -

Lippett got burned a bunch last night, but I don't think he was any worse than Maxwell would have been. Considering Lippet's salary, and inexperience I'd rather take a chance on his up side than let Maxwell waste everybody's time at this point, so count me glad that we will continue to roll with Lippett. I'd rather find out whether he has a chance to be a decent player now then keep him on the bench "developing". That $5 million in dead money we are going to pay in 2017 when we cut Maxwell is gonna suck. Maybe Tannenbaum will keep him and use him in the mail room for $8.5 million. I don't know if he can run with the mail cart though.....

I actually like this. Lippett was much better than anticpated, despite going up against a monster WR with little or no safety help (why again weren't we doubling Green every play?). Tony Lippett showed me more last night than Byron Maxwell has shown me in his first three games altogether. He, Xavien Howard and Chris Culliver (when he returns) should have the makings of a very good, young secondary.

Now, can we just sucker anyone into a 6th rounder for Maxwell?

One thing is for sure, he had final say on the coaching staff and he screwed up. I think we all need to accept that he's in over his head right now.

If he is a good head coach, he will want to roll up his sleeves and fix the problem.

This. Why the hell were we not DOUBLE TEAMING AJ FREAKING GREEN?????????? What the hell VJ??????? That was one of the most incompetent football decisions I've ever seen.

Adam Gase said today pocket presence can be taught. "Did it last year" for Jay Cutler he said. Agrees it is an issue for Ryan Tannehill.

I'm glad he understands this is an issue and he's willing to try to fix it. Could help Ryan a lot.

Wish he wouldn't have brought in Washburn. This wide 9 crap needs to go

And yes, like everyone else, so confused why we wouldn't double green

Yeah that is a good question but we will probably never know at least not while Gase and Tannenbaum are still with the team.

Have to give whoever made the picks some credit though. Even though Tunsil fell into their laps they had the balls to make the pick. Howard is looking like a good pick. Drake has shown some flashes. Trading all those picks to move up to take Carroo is looking foolish right now. Still way too early to judge Carroo the player, but if Stills leaves at the end of this season and Carroo turns out to be a Pro Bowl level player then the picks spent on him will certainly have been justified. Ignoring other glaring needs on the team should still be questioned, but to be fair there is only so much you can do in one offseason.

I am not a Tannenbaum fan but we are stuck with him, so hopefully Gase has some say during the draft.

Gase just said Vance called a "really good game" on defense.... what??????????? you call not doubling AJ Green a good game?????

• Is he surprised by the amount of offensive mistakes?

“No. Same thing as last year [in Chicago], same thing as 2012 [in Denver]. The way that this offense goes, the longer you’re in it, the easier it gets, the faster you can play, the easier the checks are. We’re struggling. We’re trying to get into the right deal. Somebody makes a mistake. We make the wrong read, we mess up the protection. It’s part of the learning process. It’s no fun going through this part of it. We’ll have three good plays and two bad plays. We’ve got to keep eliminating the mistakes, make the corrections on film. Everybody wants to just [say] the sky is falling and fall apart. You’ve got to keep working. Good teams keep working.”
