Good article. A lot of people believed Suh would not be moved after we hired Kocurek but appears he was onboard with moving on from him as well.

I was at that last game when Landry and Drake got in the fight and it was embarrassing. It was then I decided I didn't care if they moved on from Landry, especially at $16m.

Can somebody post some of the article, they're asking for a subscription to view it.

Fascinating excerpt below. This seems to suggest that Vea will not be an option at #11. Not because he doesn’t hustle but because his body type doesn’t really allow him to do what Gase is suggesting. I am now thinking Taven Bryan could be the target in a possible trade down situation.

Bryan has insane get off, is strong as an ox and never stops pursuing (even if it is not in the right direction). How I read Gase’s comments plays right to what Bryan does best, seek and destroy.

“We talked about this, how we want to play this thing. The way that Chris Kocurek is going to coach these guys, and the expectation level of how they’re going play. He wants these guys to pursue the ball. An eight-man rotation is kind of what Philly did this year, to where, not just defensive ends but I’m talking about defensive tackles too. These guys are going to be pursuing the ball down the field. They’re not going to be able to play 80 snaps a game, because that’s how much effort they’re going to be giving. If that means we need eight guys up every game....”

2. Cutting Suh’s was the biggest (and most controversial) move of the past few weeks, but beyond chemistry and culture concerns, it appears he did not fit into the sort of defense the Dolphins want to run with Chris Kocurek running the D-line. Suh would have counted more than $50 million against the cap the next two years — too much to have him on the bench. His snap count in 2017 reflected that. He was on field for 84 percent of the Dolphins’ defensive plays. The Dolphins want to go rotational in 2018.

They can talk about culture and chemistry all they want. But Tannenbaum offered and restructured that massive contract. I think it's disingenuous to blame cutting Suh on anything else. The Dolphins interior defense is far far worse without Suh on it.

Great interview..

His comments about Landry showed me something, he gave him that many chances to get touchdowns to help him get paid. Sounds weird, but it just looks that way. If so kudos to Gase, for not only thinking about himself but trying to maximize a player's earning potential. He also took a little pot shot at MikeT with the last year of contract comment.

I feel like April 16 they will see where Tannehill is at & how he looks & maybe make the decision on how pressing a QB is if we need to draft one round 1 or if we can wait

Suh is the one that hurts the most, but his contract was like a ship chain on the neck of the franchise. One thing that Gase said is a head scratcher, what did he mean that Suh didn't fit into the kind of defense that the Dolphins want to run? What exactly is he talking about?

We wanna run an 8 man rotation and Suh, who played in only 84% of the defensive plays last season didn’t factor into that rotation because of his salary. Can’t keep a player who is making that much money on the bench.
