Gase to be head coach and keep Dan Campbell on.

I don't take anything Clancy says as law. He's a big Dolphins fan, I know that. We'll see.

Until it happens it's all speculation.

if Campbell is as well regarded in that locker room as we think he is, this could go one of two ways, and it really depends on Campbell being the professional he has shown.... the players react by thinking Dan should be the head coach and look to him for a reaction, if he reacts like a pro, they will fall in line and dan would be a boon to the team chemistry. or... that other direction, in which case it would be better to let dan go to NO.

Keeping Campbell would be cool and all but what title would he have? And more importantly who is Gase hiring for his OC and DC?

Adam Gase was the quarterbacks coach of the 2007 Detroit Lions. Dan Campbell played for the 2007 Detroit Lions.

I don't think this will be an issue.

"assistant activities director"

who knows what his role will be, but he is respected in the locker room. I'm okay with keeping him but most of the previous coaching staff needs to get the axe

I like Campbell, and this has nothing to do with his coaching abilities, but this is an absolute ****ing disaster if true. Let's bring in a new guy, whose never been a HC, and keep around the old guy who a good chunk of the locker room is fiercely loyal to. This will work out great.

Before everyone starts flipping out... Ever thought of the possibility that Dan wants to stay in Miami even if it's not as the HC?

Yes, it doesn't matter. The reasoning is irrelevant, if this gets done it is the craziest, dumbest organizational move imaginable.

I hope Campbell is part of the Dolphins for a long time. We need a guy like that

As much as I like Campbell our TE's have sucked for awhile now....Keep him as a motivational coach of sorts or Strength and conditioning coach.

If it's a move to offensive coordinator, Dan Campbell might be interested. I do think Campbell has a realistic shot to be a head coach a few years down the line and having experience as a coordinator would really help his chances. This is especially true if the offense can turn the corner, which I think is a fair expectation under Gase.

Agreed. It would be a stellar way for the Dolphins to simultaneously reward Campbell for his hard work while continuing to develop him. Makes too much sense.

Campbell can be assistant HC and get paid handsomely while interviewing every year for other gigs. I think this works best.
