GAINESVILLE -- Longtime broadcaster Steve Babik of the Florida Gators' sports network was charged on Tuesday in federal court for receipt and distribution of child pornography and possession of child pornography. The University Athletic Association announced on Tuesday that Babik has been fired.

"We were made aware of the investigation in late November and immediately suspended Steve Babik from his work responsibilities. Now that he has been charged, his employement has been terminated. We are deeply disturbed by the charges," said the UAA in a statement.

Yes, I do find some degree of sick humor in this.
