GAY GOES SOUTH
After two frenetic days of free agency, Sunday was shaping up to be a lot slower.
So much for that.
The Patriots have lost cornerback Randall Gay to New Orleans, according to Adam Schefter of NFL Network.
Gay has agreed to terms on a four-year, $17.8 million deal, which includes a $3.75 million signing bonus and $6.9 million in guaranteed money.
It's not a jaw-dropping deal, but it further damages the defending AFC champions. And Gay figures to be an improvement over Jason David, who performed like a piece of French (Quarter) Toast for the Saints in 2007.

I thought the Pats were the organization that players never wanted to leave because it was so excellent in every way there.

I guess not after the cheating scandal. Seems like those players don't want to be considered a part of the organization that cheated when they or someone else looks back on their careers.

Now that is some severe over paying for Gay.

In todays market? or just for you guys? Y'alls value scale is different than anywhere else, I think you get the most bang for your buck of anyone, and that skews stuff.. in your favor. It won't matter, Bill will fill the void for less money.

I'd say for any team. He's spent more time on the IR than playing. He had a fairly decent rookie season but the supporting cast was better back then. He was primarily used as a nickle back this season but he does has durability issues. NE didn't even offer him a contract.

He def looked lost at times back there, although it never hurts to play across from one of the premier corners in the game. I def think NO overpaid. Im always weary of #2/3 corners ever since Larry Brown got that ridiculous deal after playing with Deion in DAL.
