Given the fact that GB employs a ZB scheme, do you think this will be a hindrance or help to Daniel Thomas? I actually think it will help him.

I don't think it'll matter one way or the other. All teams employ a mix of zone and man blocking.

DT is a bust in my book already.2 round pick that we traded up for LMFAO. We could of had Ryan Mallet and a pass rusher last year. Injury prone, runs to high and he fumbles the ball. I'd try to trade him and get some value for him before the verdict is out!

Didnt realize Daman379 was actually Tim Tebow... haha! But seriously I was impressed with DT at the beginning and feel he kind of slowed down in the end... Havent given up on him at all though...

You need to keep in mind that he was injured for most of the year.

Wow - to call a 2nd rd running back a bust after his rookie season with no training camp, a new offense with a joke of a HC and a below avg OL. Some people are a bit harsh! I was hoping for Mallet only because we need to get a young answer at QB but it's not like we heard anything out of NE to say he is the answer. This kid DT is a big tough RB and if healthy could be a great compliment to Bush. I think this team is fine at RB - they should draft another or bring in another young guy to be the #3 - i don't think Hilliard is any kind of answer at rb. This team needs to upgrade at WR for a WCO. We can't be running 4 wide sets and throwing out Bess and Hartline and who else? We need a serious upgrade there IMO.

Ryan Mallet had a great year, he's a sure fire HOF!

Daniel Thomas is a bust for what we did to get him, I honestly hated the pick.

We are running a spread offense which requires more man blocking, why the hell would you zone block if your spreading the offense? Just hit the guy infront of you DUH!!!

Most teams running the spread zone block. Green Bay ran mostly zone pass protections. Even the college spread offenses zone block. There is a good clip somewhere of Dan Mullen and some of Florida's coaches when he was with Florida meeting with Alex Gibbs to learn more about the inside and outside zones.

I don't see very much value for an oft injured 3.5 yard per average,Zero tds
running back.I think we're stuck with him

Man the picks you have underneath are pretty sick! I'm not 100% on Flynn but Nicks most definitely and your draft board on the bottom is excellent.

Are you serious? Look how bad florida was last year they need ALL the help they can get.

Zone blocking is better used when your trying to trick defensive lineman by pulling lineman in different directions. Its almost like your trying to stunt block compared to defensive linemen trying to stunt and switch positions while rushing. There is NO benefit in zone blocking when passing UNLESS your trying to set up a screen pass or draw play because there is a "run/screen pass" option built into the play.

Side note - the only other time zone pass protections is "decent" is if your offensive lineman are a bunch of BEAST and maybe 1 of them need double team help. For example your starting LT goes down to injury and you put your back up scrubb, so why not zone block assign to help his scrubb arss out.

Zone blocking is a technique in American football that is a simple and effective scheme for creating lanes for running plays.
In a zone blocking scheme, fleet-footedness and athletic ability trump size as desirable qualities in offensive linemen. Coordination and technique matter more than muscle in implementing a successful scheme because defensive linemen are often double-teamed at the point of attack. Creating movement on the defensive line is more important than opening a specific hole in the defense.

Dont totally agree with your post, but as far as making an argument goes... you were doing great until you used wikipedia as a source to back you up....
