GBN 2 round mock

i couldn't live with that. You got to draft by need, safety is not a need with Bell and Allen. (If we wind up losing bell, its a different story). You need to go Levi Brown, but if we address secondary it should be at CB liek Leon Hall. I would be happy with the #2 pick tho. I also think LaMarr Woodley would be a great fit for our defense too

I disagree. Drafting BPA will upgrade your team better and faster than drafting need. This mock looks awesome to me. Landry would surely be the BPA at #9, and he would be a monsterous upgrade in the secondary. Kalil may very well be the BPA in the second, while still upgrading our line. I love this mock.

IMO, in order to justify taking the same position in back to back drafts the player has to be an exceptional talent. Is LaRon Landry an exceptional talent?

Exactly. Drafting strickly by need is where you get in trouble. Go BPA regardless of their position. They could use an enforcer at safety. They haven't had one in awhile. They could always move Jason Allen to corner or have him pair with Landry and be set at that position for years to come.

Would be nice but I wouldn't put stock into it....I mean come on......Calvin RUSSELL from GT.....lol.

I would love to have those guys but all those trades.....not sure that will happen...

I would say he has that capibility to be. Nobody knows for sure until he actually plays and performs. I could see him being like another Sean Taylor. Not only that, but Jason Allen didn't exactly tear it up last year. I could see your point if Jason Allen came in and dominated, but he didn't. So he is still a mystery. Remember too, Mueller is the one that drafted McAllister after already having Ricky Williams on the roster. He will go BPA regardless of position.

What do you do with Y-Bell then? Why move Allen to corner? He really ISNT a NFL corner.

I love what Landry brings, and if we needed a safety I would fully endorse...but I dont

Kalil in the second would be SWEET

How do you know that he isn't an NFL corner? He played that position before in college at Tennessee and played it well before he got hurt. Plus, I liked Y. Bell better as the nickel safety. He does he a great job blizting, but stuggled a little bit in coverage.

Not even close to being a good enough cover guy. Line him up at CB and he is gonna get smoked all day long. I like Jason Allen, just not as CB
Y-Bell is definately too good of a player to just bring in on nickel situations.

Listen, I would Love Landry, just not in our current situation.
The mentallity that you keep picking BPA is gonna get us an entire core of WR and Safeties, without anybody else. IF BPA is how we go, our Oline is going to really really struggle AGAIN>

After Landry's combine #s, I have warmed up to the ideal of drafting him. I was not aware he had 4.3 speed unitl I saw him run at the combine. He is twice the prospect his brother (Dawan Landry) is, and Dawan is tearing it up in Baltimore. Mueller loves speed, and his 40 time along with his playmaking ability makes him almost impossible to pass up at the #9 spot.

I now agree with most in this thread, that picking best player available with our first pick will impact this team far better than picking a need position. My opinion, there are at least 12 players who I think rate higher than Levi Brown as BPA right now. If that is the case, be prepared to watch our Fins draft defense with our first pick, because defensive players dominated the BPA list early in the draft; especially in the top 10.

I still would be happy with either one, but LaRon is making a strong case for himself.

Why would Allen get smoked as a CB? Just wondering why you think that?
