I can't believe most of the stuff I'm reading, I would have thought the fins lost 52-3 like the Saints and Saban and his staff should be fired for such a pitiful game. Here's a few of my observations.

1st. - 18 penalties and 5 turnovers, we shouldn't have been in the game, much less driving inside the 20 for the go ahead touchdown. Don't forget this game was in Buffalo and I believe this is the NFL and it's never easy to win on the road. Also, this was a huge game for Buffalo and the last time I checked they dressed out NFL players too.

2nd. - The offside and false start penalties are the ones that are killing us and I definitely don't put ALL the blame with Saban. This isn't Pop Warner, they know the ball has to be snapped before they jump. Saban coaches agressiveness and I believe that has helped slow down a lot of the oppositions running game. False starts could be a lot of things - crowd noise, new blocking system, rotating lineman -- I'm thinking a lot of it is to do with the lineman concentrating on their blocking scheme and going blank on the count. No, not an excuse, but something that can be corrected. Or maybe everyone would like us to never have a false start and have the line block like they did last year. Hmmm, I'll take a few false start penalties.

3rd. What else do you want out of Ronnie Brown? Never fumble? It happens to the best of them. I believe if I checked history, there is a good chance Jim Brown and Walter Payton put a few on the grass.

Moral of the story - Yes, we had penalties, Yes, we had dumb mistakes, Yes, we had turnovers BUT the game I watched, the Dolphins were driving inside the 20 for the go ahead score at the Bills stadium. Pretty darn exciting to me.

We aren't going to win them all this year, but I sure enjoy being in the game every Sunday. Maybe, I'm a half glass full kind of guy, but I'm enjoying what I'm seeing a little more this year than last year.

I couldn't agree more! Sure, I hate we lost as much as anyone. Just knowing that after all of the penalties and interceptions we still had a chance to win makes me very optomistic about what is going on with this team. As far as Ronnie Brown goes, I hate it that he fumbled but the guy was putting in the extra effort for more yardage and I can't find fault with that.

Dude I would have preferred if we lost 52-3 then I would be able to say....Ok the Phins are not a good team. But to go up to Buffalo and beat ourselves because of stupid penalties is very frustrating. Without those penalities, we win that game no doubt about it. I do believe however, that we are going in the right direction.

I dont know how Saban coaches this penalty thing into these players... most were committed by veteran players.

I notice that players are trying to time their run to the line of scrimmage.... I say take a bit off aggressiveness or just pull up 2 or 3 yards behing the line of scrimmage so they arent in the neutral zone..
Most penalties are defensive ones... of that nature and seriously need to be addressed.

It all starts during practice, thats where penalties should be called or brought to the attention of the players not on gameday. Just think how easy these games would have been without the penalities. Lets Wake up Saban!

The worse thing today is I dont want to go outside and pick up the newspaper. They will make mincemeat out of our play...Maybe a car will run over the paper and carry it away....the delivery guy usually throws it so it ends up in the street. Hope he did an extra special job on it today.......LOL ("have to laugh to keep from crying".)....

Trouble is next week will be a tough game (AGAIN) away at TB and it won't be Tv'd in either place.....maybe thats a good thing...nah...got to see that game.

Hehehehee... No, actually, the criticism is pretty light compared to what's been thrown around here the past 5 years or so. :D

For most, the fact that we had 18 penalties and 5 turnovers and still had a chance to win a game on the road at the end would be something positive. On the other hand, the way I look at it is how is this any different than how we played last year? We were constantly playing behind the 8 ball last year and we somehow kept ourselves in the game only to lose in the final moments of the game. IMO, the fact that we came up short after yesterday's loss is not something positive that I want to take away from the game.

This game hurt. It hurt to watch a bunch of talented, veteran players make so many dumb mistakes. It hurt to watch Gus being....well Gus. It hurt that after all the terrible play we had the chance to win and dropped that chance on the ground.

Yeah RB's fumble.. But why did he have to fumble at such an important time of the game?
 That's the way it seems to go when you are struggling to pull a win out of your *** in the last moments of the game. A crucial fumble, a game ending pick, a penalty that puts you out of FG range. Sucks.

The question I have is......How does Saban Fix the mistakes we had this week?? Do you guys think he will take away playing from one of the Vets.

Accountability is important, but how far is too far? Do you bench a vet for a week as punishment and then lose the game because he wasn't there? That's a Tom Coughlin hardass attitude. Fine 'em, berate 'em and make 'em cry. Don't bench 'em.

Good points all but you have to ask yourself, when are the stupid penalties going to end?

I'm not blaming Saban or the staff but how can anyone justify what is going on with these pre-snap and PF penalties. Its a scary Raider like lack of discipline and the really scary part is that good players, players we wouldn't ever think about cutting are doing it too.

Bottom line is that we've lost two very winnable games against division teams b/c we gave them the game by committing penalties and turnovers.

I can't take any silver linings out of either game.

Understood, but you do need to take a silver lining out of this game. 18 penalties - 5 turnovers and driving with a chance to win the game. NFL teams that commit 5 turnovers in a game aren't driving for the winning td with 4 minutes left and add to it 18 penalties - It just doesn't happen.

All I've heard is penalty this penalty that, haven't heard much on the board about the adjustments made at halftime both offensively and defensively to put us in a position to win. 13 first half penalties versus 5 penalties in the second half - Haven't looked up the second half stats, but I'm sure we won those categories.

Everyone is talking about discipline, but no one is on the sidelines or in the meetings. I'm sure Saban is stressing the penalties with the team, but he's not going to bring that out in the media. He's never done it in the past, why would he start now? He believes in the process, his process works, but it's not overnight with a 4-12 team. It just sounds like most people are on the board to complain, that's fine, but darn we have looked good. Yeah, I cuss when the jump offsides and say "not again" but that doesn't veer me away from looking at the whole picture. I'm happy with the progress - look at my past posts, I've always said this will be a 8-8 team, hopefully more, but I'm a realist.

Yeah, I'd like to be 4-0, but remind me again how many undefeated teams there are in the NFL? With 1/4 of the season gone and the teams we have played, I feel happy about 2-2. Not sure how many people know about changing schemes, philosophies, quarterback and a whole new coaching staff, but it's not perfected after 4 friggin games.
