Wow is all I can start with, so much to discuss, good & bad so here it is;
The Good:
We had a gameplan and executed it to perfection ,minus the last 4 minutes.
Offensive Line really stepped up and showed up to play.
Ronnie and Ricky both took advantage of great line play and executed well.
Pennington also took advantage of great line play and played well (accept for clock management at the end).
Wildcat is alive and well and scored for us.
Sean Smith all things considered.
The Bad:
The rest of our defense took a real step back from week 1.
Jason Taylor, opening night and your big return to the Dolphins and.....you laid an egg.
Very poor clock management at the end of the game Chad Pennington
Ted Ginn, you played great, you wanna be a number 1...you gotta catch the TD to win the game, until then you're a number 2
Very poor clock management at the end of the game coaching staff
Things I didn't quite understand:
They hit us up on 1st play of game, we do an excellent job to pound away at them and answer back, we force them into 3 and out, get the ball back and drive down to the 30 yard line (during this time we pound away @ them again and they have no answer). It is now 4 and 1 from their 30 and try a long field goal!!!! Sure we make it but we have been pounding the rock w/ great success....show some confidence and killer instict and go get the first down and a touchdown, mistake as far as I'm concerned.
Outlook:
0-2 and is not pretty, my thoughts last week when we lost were we win this week and then even if we lost to San Diego next week we would still take care of business @ home and win to division games and go into the bye @ 3-2 sitting decent in the division.
Now, we face a must win game against a team that lost in their house last week and will be hungry.
As I stated last week, my biggest fear this month would be playing against the elite TE's which we haven't has great success against. Sure enough Clark killed us last night and Gates is waiting in the wings.
We have a dug a deep hole and its only week 2, damn I hate this, worst case scenario already. We need a huge performance next week and we need to somehow scrape out a W
