I thnk this team really needs to get younger and better on defense with their first pick of the 2007 draft.

Unless Calvin Johnson or Quinn are available (highly unlikely) the best option for Miami is a corner or OLB.

A LT or OL prospect gives them much less chance for an impact player. The top 5 is the place to draft for OL in Round 1, not the middle of the first round.

I think the other top prioirities for this team should be WR, TE and K.

i agree except one situation happens i think we should go OLB or Cb unless certain players are off the board. If woodley is there i think he is th OLB we need ifhe not and one of the better cornerss there take him if not I think Jake long is the pik if he comes out

I think we need a #1 WR opposite Booker. Ted Ginn would be the guy for this offense. Trade Chambers for a #2 and you're over it.

draft O line. Im sorry. We need it. Might as well get over it now. Its an unsexy pick for sure. But we simply need it.

Stop with the we need WR in the draft BS, We need to improve the

quality of athlete along the OL. Hands down, OL and DL dictate the game. Regardless as to how decent they may due, this OL more often than not has played poorly against top DL, and that is the level of caliber that you see in the Playoffs. Even though they did well today, do not be satisfied with that. We desperately have to start to invest into that aspect of our team consistently, it has been neglected for many years, Vernon Carey notwitstanding.

Yeah but the LT prospects after Joe Thomas aren't that great (Baker is staying at USC). You can always help your line fairly well in the 2nd and 3rd rounds (not to mention FA), whereas it's tough to get skilled position guys who make major contributions after the 1st. This offense needs a Lee Evans type guy out there for it to run right, and we won't be getting one of those after the 1st.

I don't think we'll be drafting a receiver, period. We need an OLB. We need OL. and We need a CB. BPA is probably gonna have us picking a CB where were looking right now.

I actually believe that unless there is a franchise LT on the board, we go defense. Since we have put shelton as a RG, the right side has been solid. I really dont think we need to do too much with the OL. I think that Carey, Hadnot, Shelton, James should come back with expecting to start. If they get beat out in training camp, then its a different situation. Also, remeber we will have Joe Toledo back. I think he could come in and replace Jeno James, if we decide to cut him. As far as the draft is concern, I think we will be looking for a CB, DT, or LB in the first round. Then I think we will look at some offensive line in the second or third round.

But there are two things that must be address this offseason.
1. we must get some youth at DT. Fred Even and the DT out of Texas ( I forgot his name) are possibilties.
2. Find a good LT.

Pending what is done with Welker in the off season, Ginn might be a possiblity. Take over the slot role and return kicks. If Welker is resigned, and Jake Long could be a possibility. But I believe Saban will go defense, and if the players he wants are gone, I see Posluszny being taken by Miami. Or a CB, like Darrelle Revis.

The primary needs to me are:
  • offensive line
  • defensive tackle
  • corner back
Secondary needs:
  • outside linebacker
  • wide receiver
  • quarterback of the future
I think if you can get a starter in the early rounds for our primary needs, you go for that. Get the best player. I don't think outside linebacker is as important as other b/c Miami spends enough time in the nickel or dime, that the 3rd linebacker after Thomas and Chowder isn't as important as even a nickel back IMO. At CB, I think you assume Daniels is a solid starter and look for someone to play the other side.

culpepper is the future, lemon is a backup with starter potential. qb does not need to be addressed. defensive line we need a dt. i think explosive # 1 reciever is our biggest need. corner should be addressed in fa - samuels or hopefully clements

Quarterback does need to be addressed because Daunte Culpepper has not shown ANYTHING as a Miami Dolphin that makes him a lock to be a franchise quarterback. And that's fact.

Where did you come up with that conclusion?
