George Edwards returns to the #Dolphins as LB coach after a 2 year stint as #Bills defensive coordinator

Zac Taylor is the new assistant QB coach, and ST coach Darren Rizzi, TE coach Dan Campbell & strength coach Darren Krein have been retained

#Dolphins still don't have coaches for QBs, RBs, WRs, DLs and DBs

Taylor is married to Sarah Sherman, daughter of the former Green Bay Packers head coach and formerTexas A&M Head Coach Mike Sherman.

It is funny. I was wondering to myself if George Edwards could be brought back. The guy is a good coach that had ZERO talent in Buffalo. Nice hire.

SMALL criticism though...I was very displeased with the conditioning of the players early in the year. Ultimately, that was on the players for not taking care of there bodies and Tony not doing enough conditioning. However, Krein should get credit for having the players stay relatively healthy during the year.

Yea Dansby said we were a little out of shape in the beginning of the season, hopefully that was just because of the lockout, I dont think that will happen again this year.

I guess that means Duffner is not coming, since they brought back Edwards. Can't really say I am excited to have Edwards back. Just an eh hiring for me.

They hired an assistant QB coach, but don't have a QB coach? My guess is Dorrell might have also been retained.

Zac Taylor? Should have hired Ken Dorsey.

Still a lot of coaching seats to fill.

I don't think Sparano had a clue how to condition this team without two-a-days. It took him till week 8 before he figured out how to coach the team anyway.

Right now, they still have openings at:

Quaterbacks Coach
Running Backs Coach
Wide Receivers Coach
Offensive Line Coach
Offensive Quality Control Coach
Defensive Line Coach
Secondary Coach
Quality Control Coach

Plus any assistants to those positions that they wish to bring in such as an assistant receivers coach, etc. Though defensive line is rumored to be Kacy Rodgers returning so we shall see, that is my hope. Like I said in my earlier post, since they hired an assistant quarterbacks coach, maybe that means Dorrell is staying.

Zac Taylor huh? young coach at 28. Liked him at Nebraska though.

Dunno how I feel about George Edwards. He has done a decent job as LB coach other places including here sans his final year. His Buffalo run I don't think all was on him. They wanted a 3-4 and he didn't have a lot of experience in one.

.

I am almost POSITIVE I saw that we had hired an offensive line coach?

My guess is they might still be eyeing guys from either the Cheatriots or the Gints before settling the remaining.

IMHO, we got what we absolutely had to in the HC, OC and DC so they can start scouring talent with Ireland ASAP!!!!
After they line their ducks up in regards to FA and draft wants, they can go back and fill in the rest of the staff..or concurrently as it might be.

Question....how can you hire an assist. QB coach and not have an actual QB coach on staff. Wouldn't you think the QB coach would want some input in that hire?

Not really thrilled with Edwards... he was a Saban choice and outside of Linehan, we know how those all worked out. His work at Buffalo was not really confidence-inspiring either. Hope I'm proven wrong and will automatically pull for anyone associated with the beautiful awesome AquaOrange. Still hoping Zach Thomas will end up at least being offered a role in coaching the LBs.
