Question....how can you hire an assist. QB coach and not have an actual QB coach on staff. Wouldn't you think the QB coach would want some input in that hire?

He was a Graduate Assistant at Texas A&M with Sherman so at least he has some familiarity with the offense.

I don't think being an assistant QB coach requires much other then assisting. Also I'm sure whoever Philbin brings in as QB coach will be someone the OC (Sherman, kid's father in law) recommends and would be ok with such scenario. I wouldn't worry about it too much.

Technically, Karl Dorrell is still on staff I believe. He could very well be retained.
