I was reading another thread about David Gerrard trying to defend the other players that are talking about not wanting to play here..

But wasnt it Gerrard that flat out refused the Dolphins last season when he got canned by Jax? I remember him flat out rejecting the offer to interview....

We wanted to sign him and he refused to sign because we wouldn't guarantee his money. He sort of insulted the team, IIRC, and then a couple of other teams kicked his tires and came to the same conclusion that we did. He wanted guaranteed money and then when nobody would offer it to him, he had the season ending back surgery that he probably knew that he needed when he insisted on guaranteed money.

Ditto, no one was going to pay him his vet gurantee unless he had the surgery. He thought he could out smart our franchise and fell victim to a back fire. That said hes Culpepper 2.0. A huge waist of time.

It's my understanding that his back injury is basically what resulted in his being cut right before the start of the season. Then again, Jack Del Rio *did* love cutting his starting QB two days before the season opener.

Delrio was on hot seat and was pressured to move on in a different direction. He wanted a spark or change to save his job because he knew David wasn't the answer.

Thanks for confirming my memory.. I just think its funny how he is such a hypocrite because he was the first one to disrespect us.. and then once he found out no one wanted his services.. he's come back and is now defending the organization..

In all fairness, David Garrard is a much better QB than Blaine Gabbert. I'll take Garrard and Moore over Gabbert and Henne any day of the week. I think Gabbert is irredeemable.

He states he likes playing in florida weather. I honestly don't like the guy at all. He scares me and I have a feeling hes going to suck, get cut. Join the Raiders, then play us and score a rushing TD and point to his back in celebration while he laughs and they come out with WIN. Rolls Eyes

if he completes 60% plus of passes then it was a good pickup imo... 60% means you can win games
