and put your thinking caps back on, Jesus.

Lemon is a career backup, and for some odd reason people have this overwhelming amount of optimism because he preformed well against other third stringers last preseason for San Diego.

The man has yet to throw a regular-season pass in his career (I believe) and is not quite the "young pup" some have described him as. He's 26, which isn't considered very young. We brought the guy in to aleviate the cap space that AJ Feely was taking up and to get rid of him period. :tantrum:

Ugh. Iunno.:fire:

I agree. It's absolutely inane and irresponsible of the posters to even put forth the idea that he has a chance to win the third string spot. It amazes me that some of the people on here have the audacity to say kind words about the man--they need to get a room with him or something.

And thanks for pointing out the age thing--at 26, he has to be considering retirement soon.

I just think the idea of him beating out Harrington is ridiculous, Harrington is not that good, but he also has a LOT of starting experience (even if that starting experience is losing experience)

26 is a good age for retirement, wouldn't that be the life?

An instant classic reply

The sarcasm of my post was to point out that most of the people who post here are realistically talking about Lemon as a third stringer. Those who suggested he could possibly do more are in the vast minority.

Lemon as a third stringer is something I would be fine with. However, it's a vocal "vast minority" in a lot of threads talking about Lemon being a threat to Harrington

No...that is not even logical. Getting rid of Feeley got rid of the cap space. How would signing a replacement and paying him free up cap space?

I may be misunderstanding you but the move did free up space. Feeley was due a ridiculous Wannyspeil amount of money and that was avoided by trading for Lemon, who has a more friendly contract. the Chargers in essence, took that ugly contract on because they had the room to, and parlayed it into the (6th?) round pick.

You know you can hit the edit button and edit your posts. That would keep the thread from having these cliff hangers

It did free up space but to suggest that we took Lemon as a method to reduce the cap is not logical. Taking away 2 million and adding back whatever Lemon's cap number is is not the purest way to reduce cap. We already had a third QB on the roster so we didn't need a new QB.

Also, to suggest that Saban took Lemon as a consolation prize and then kept him into this season is to suggest that Saban is not so good with personnel management.
