They made (and trading, releasing Dante upcoming) the right move IMHO. Of course I'm ever the company man.

We can eat crow here together later.

:bighug:

I approve, but it wasn't exactly what I'd have done as a GM. I would have probably gotten here even sooner than this. I like Daunte, but once the new regime came in, he really didn't have many ties to this organization anymore.

I definitely approve. I'm glad to see Daunte go. And I'm glad to see Trent Green will finally wear a Dolphins uniform. He will help us short term, and increases our chances for being successful THIS season, and he is much better suited to be a mentor to Beck. Trent Green won't be with Miami long. But our team improved because of this acquisition. And with John Beck there to take over for him soon, the future could be bright.

I agree, except glad to see Daunte go. I hope he succeeds with his new team. Can't hate a guy that worked as hard as he did.

Wasn't for lack of trying. Peterson, was being a peter, son.

IMO we were holding up the deal because we were trying to trade Daunte first. It dosent look like giving up that 4th Peterson wanted was a problem, because the deal becomes a 4 if Trent takes X amount of the snaps or something. I think we were trying to get rid of Daunte first because now it is even more obvious that we will have to release him. His trade value if any has been decreased more now. Teams know they can get him for free very soon. Thats all.

cameron has got to with his own guy, he can't make the same mistake JJ made when he didn't go with his own guy over marino

Here is my take. We have not had a QB who has been close to Dan Marino in talent or ability sine Dan retired. Will Trent Green be Dan Marino?,,,NO,...but I still think Green is better than Feeley, Fiedler, Lucas, Harrington, DC, etc., and can still put up 4,000+ yards. Green gives us a shot at scoring more points, which is the primary reason we have not been winning (16 points per game on offense). Give Green a shot for a year or so and then Beck will come in and be our QB of the future. :)

you are getting warmer

I would have kept Cpep. There is no way we know for sure what we had in him until he was 100% and there is no way to know for sure what we have in Green. They both may be fine or both may have been terrible. I think we should at least have given them both mini-camps and a couple of preseason games before we put all our eggs in Greens basket

Gus Ferrotte was pretty damn good, Roman.

I approve. The Dolphins finally are going about the QB position the correct way....investing a 1st day pick in the draft and letting him sit behind an established veteran to learn how to be a pro ala Philip Rivers. We also are not a complete joke anymore at the QB position with the uncertainty. If they can somehow get something for Daunte than this drama will be a complete win for Miami.
You go Cam:thumbup:

Yeah, how could I forget old Gus.
