Then you clearly don't understand the game of football. Without a quarterback the rest is meaningless.

Sine you decided to call someone else out, your lack of knowledge is glaring. I'll say it again, without an o-line to protect a QB, no matter how good he is, he's gonna suck. He's gonna get pounded and he's gonna get hurt. You can hide weaknesses with a good line. You can't without one. A bad line exposes weakness for all others to exploit.

You're right - we got Pouncey and Daboll. We're gold.

A center who can't snap and an OC who just almost set an all time NFL low scoring record - that should be all we need for a SB run.

I feel better now.

No doubt we need a QB, but none of the QB's in this draft were Franchise guys. They are all projects. I would still rather hit on a Nasty OG than wait 3 years to watch Mallett fade into the nothingness.

What do you think we've been doing since Marino was done? We've spent 3 first rounders on O-lineman, 3 or 4 on Runningbacks, None on QB's.

And the years have faded into nothingness, this once proud franchise is now a bottomfeeder, it was once the winningest team since the merger, that has faded away.

Clearly this regime, the one that drafted Pat White and Chad Henne instead getting Matt Ryan, Joe Flacco or going after a Josh Freeman, does not know how to evaluate QB's.

A perfect pick at the perfect spot? Then why is Pouncey the highest picked interior lineman in the last 10 years? How is that a perfect spot? Or do you believe he is the best interior lineman in the last 10 years and therefore worthy of being picked in that spot?

seems they got this draft right by not drafting any of the career backups. and btw we took long over ryan...

an interior olineman in the top 15 who stayed in school because he wasn't as good as his brother last year who came out and was picked #18 overall who you are gonna ask to play center when everyone and their mother can tell he's a better guard fit is not good value...

face it...sparano and ireland went the safe route yet again...if this kids not steve hutchinson at guard or nick mangold at center or every bit of his brother maurkice in pittsburgh this pick sucks

that said i will say that mike pouncey is a terrific on the move prospect more stout than given credit for and a really good football player...but interior oline when you're kicking fgs out the wazoo cause the offense lacks playmakers at qb rb etc??? ugh

i wholeheartedly believe that if we didn't take pouncey that the giants at #19 would have but they already have a qb and playmakers on offense etc...they don't kick damn fgs all game long

bottom line though is color me not surprised with sparano and ireland on this anymore...its old hat

If someone disagrees with this look at the 2008 Super Bowl where Brady was befuddled by an attacking Giants defense it was the first time all that year he didnt have a pocket to throw in, no pocket no success as a QB.

Hell look at any time the Pats played Manning early in his career he is arguably the best QB EVER yes EVER and when pressure is around him he is mortal just like everyone else.

Pouncey struggled only in the beginning of the season because it was his first year at C and Florida pulls their C on almost every running play. Playing in the toughest conference in the NCAA, in his first few games, against opposing teams best D-linemen. Not to mention it was a non issue down the stretch, and it has absolutely no effect on his blocking ability and demeanor. We should actually be happy, he may have evern gone sooner had he not had the shotgun snap issue.

Daboll made Peyton Hillis look like Zonk and paved his way for the madden cover, lets see what this guy can do on an offense with actually some WR's and a good o-line.

That is absolutely ridiculous, nearly every GM in this league agrees this is a quarterback driven league, look at the teams on top in this league, they have QB's, the ones on bottom? They do not.

Are you suggesting the leagues GM's don't know football?

No, I'm suggesting you don't. A good QB is very important. None of the QBs in this draft is a true franchise QB. Shore up the o-line. Bring in a veteran QB, that way you know what your getting. All the QBs in this draft need to develope. We are not in the position to waste a first round pick on a project. It is still possible for Henne to develope. He might, he might not. Aaron Rogers had 4 years to work on his game. Soliai sucked for 3 years, then suddenly last year...he arrives. Jason Taylor took three years to become the player he is. All the QBs in this draft will need up to 3 years to develope. Ireland made the right choice. When you finish 7-9, top picks need to start now.

Who would you have taken?

is mike pouncey really the highest drafted interior oline player in the last 10 years??? that should say it all if its true...wow...bad value unless this guy puts on the pads and from day 1 DOMINATES

sparanos so old school its not funny..."we're gonna win by holding you to 10 points scoring 1 td and kicking 3 fgs"...not in todays nfl your not *******

havent we been shoring up the line for three years. I mean we have no RB big questions at qb. I will just be glad when we hire the right friggin coach because ours is clueless.

Hell i will bet that Manning would say Jeff Saturday is more important to his success than any of his receivers or coaches. THATS how important a good center is and how big of an impact they can have.

And QB's dont by watches and dinner and vacations for WR's and RB's they by the for their O-line.

he didnt dominate in college so i doubt he comes in from day one and does it. over time he should be a good player esp when we get a new oline coach
