Get Rid of This Murtha Focker!

From what I got to see, minus the penalties, Murtha did well in pass protect, and a few times was really driving his man out of the picture on run plays. Certainly a project worth keeping....and possibly playing some RT down the line.

Those drive killing penalties were exasperating - but better he get that out of his system now. Other than that, he played stoutly, protected Chad and sprung some runs. IMO we're fortunate to have a young and improving line guy like that in the mix- especially one we didn't have to pay a fortune acquiring or with an expiring shelf life.

The best question to answer this thread would be "If Jake Long isn't ready, who on the squad would be best suited to start the season at LT?"

Murtha has to be at the top of the list at this point.

Murtha's penalties pissed me the **** off, but on the other hand it's not like he sucked the entire game. I'm sure Sparano and Googs are going to rip him a new ******* and then have him doing blocking drills until he doesn't commit a penalty during an entire practice.

Were we watching the same game? I was about to post a thread titled "Mutha>Columbo". Yeah he had those penalties, but I was watching him all game and I swear this guy ran his defender clear into the linebackers. Look at the highlights for some of the longer runs and keep an eye on Mutha. Dude beasted on those fat boys...

i agree.. if anything i want to cut Columbo... he whiffed on a block that might of gotten Henne killed if it wasnt for him getting rid of it quickly. Other plays i saw him get pushed back.. Im going to be scared if this guy starts.. i hope some one good gets cut.. or murtha keeps improving.

2 words: Lydon Murtha. This guy is terrible! 3 bad penalties, two of them basically killing efficient Miami drives. There's no way in hell this guy should make the 53 man roster. Can't have this idiot costing Miami pts in the regular season. Does anyone actually think he won't be cut?

ENOUGH!!! Enough of these compulsive posts/threads... Murtha was going against Carolina's 100 million dollar man (J. Peppers replacement).... How many times was Henne sacked??? We should be happy we have a more than capable backup for Big Jake Long... Let's look at the positives intead of the negatives for once...

I was thinking the same thing . . . I rather correct penalties than correct the inability to pass protect and plow people in the run game.
