Two games now he went conservative with a ton of time left against a strong offense/QB.

Both times we all knew it was stupid, both times we all saw it coming. But the head coach of the Miami Dolphins apparently can't see it because his head is too far stuck up his ass.

Well listen up Mr. Philbin. Time is NOT a factor when there's ~4 minutes and ~3 timeouts and your opponent is built as a passing team. Stop trying to burn an extra 30 seconds that turns out to hurt us instead, and go for the first downs.

You deserve to get banned you ban happy clown.
This guy is stating the obvious. Philbin is horrible

They were fine James. It was a hard fought good football game by two good teams. We came up short. End of story. If you want something to complain about the Clay TD drop cost us the game.

Excellent point, this seems to be ignored but you are right.

Oh, so if I complained about Clay making a physical mistake I shouldn't be banned, but complaining about Philbin's mental one deserves it?

And Clearly they weren't fine. You know how I know, because it was exactly why they lost. Despite the Clay drop, the phins were still ahead, and the defense came through giving the phins the ball back with 4 minutes. All they needed was a small drive to seal it. But instead Philbin decides burning 1 min and/or 2 timeouts in these situations is more important.

I called it before Rodgers beat us and I called it here. Because it is common sense. Everyone saw it coming. And when your head coach can't even exercise common sense, he deserves to be criticized.

As you can see, I really don't post much.
So, pardon my ignorance. But after Clays drop, it would have been 4th and goal from the 2. Why not take a chance and go for it right there? If we get the TD, that's a moral breaker right there, if we don't, we got them at there 2 and the defense was playing pretty good up to that point. Just my 2 cents.

2 completely different sets of circumstances. He blew the GB game. Today he was trying to save time. I have no problem with that.

I don't know about that one. I think that's a tough call. I can see the merit in going for it, but I can also understand going for the FG.

I'm not talking about the Dolphin timeouts on defense, that's a separate argument (although I disagree with that too). I'm talking about Philbin deciding to run the ball on 2 out of 3 downs again when the offense was on the field. In both situations the obvious decision is to try to keep Aaron Rodgers/Matthew Stafford off the field, not to give it back to them with 3 minutes instead of 4 and think that is going to put you in the best position to win.

Ok.
At that time we were tied at 13. I thought Jeez, 3 points is not going to cut it, we need the td. It would have forced them to score a td to tie not to win.
Then again, they have the ability to go 75 yds and score a FG and win it as well. I just would have liked to see us take a chance.
Thanks.

If you don't pass it on every down you're conservative now? He got us to a manageable third and five, where we attempted a pass, and burned their timeouts in the meantime. And if he passed it on all three downs some other clown would be in here complaining about that.

We have been in a similar scenario 11 times where we had the ball and the lead late in the game, and we attempted passes to win the game in 10 of them (none successful), the only time we ran it on all three downs was against Pittsburgh when we were already in field goal range to go up by a TD.

denying the 10y penalty on 4th & 6 was the boner to me.. Caldwell showed early he was willing to sell out to beat us.. Philbin's a shetty poker player..
