Surprised this hadn't already been written. The Ronnie Brown fumble didn't it feel like a blast from the past. Sammie Smith, Housten Oilers early 1990's game winning drive. Sammie goes over pile and fumbles. We lose.Sammie traded to Broncos. Ends up out of the league and in Jail on big time drug charge. That's not going to happen to Ronnie. Proud to be a fins fan. Playoffs or not. Keep fighting fellas. Love what your doing.

it didn't feel like it cos it wasn't a fumble...it was a terrible call when it should have been called a TD.Please, don't compare Sammie to Ronnie.

Ozzy rules!!

go Italy 2006

We have to understand that RB is a rookie. He will fumble the ball. I know that next year, he will be extra careful.

Comparing Ronnie Brown with Sammie Smith is crazy. There is no comparison. Granted, Ronnie does need to get better at taking care of the football. That is the 3rd time this year he has dropped the ball in a crucial situation. SOme people say he was the victim of a bad call. Fine, but the ball still came out and he proved that he HAS to get better at protecting the ball.

Nope. Every running back makes mistakes. However, his fumble today was not a real fumble, but a horrible call be the refs. Ronnie is 1000 times better then Sammy Smith. They should never be mentioned in the same sentence together.

not comparing him to ronnie. Ronnie is going to be a much better player. First off he has more heart and runs harder than Sammie. Other than Sammie in The Buffalo snow game of the early 90's. Two I don't think Ronnie fumbled but it was ruled a fumble at a critical moment in the game, just like Sammie who did fumble. Stop being so sensitive guys. Love what Ronnie and what this team is doing. Just looked like a Deja vu type of thing.

Futhermore where did I bash or hop on Ronnie for that mere mention of that alleged fumble. Ronnie is a rookie and he should of protected the ball a little better but he will get it in time. Now if Edgerin James or Sean Alexander did that I would be more upset. When watching the game I'm saying to myself shake it off , Ronnie. Last thing I want this young stud to do is lose his confindence in a big game.

The BIG difference is that Ronnie Brown didn't fumble. Ground cannot call a fumble and I think the replay demonstrated clearly that it wasn't a fumble.
I was sitting in row 4 right on the goal line the day Sammie Smith fumbled and that one came out after contact with a defender.

Hard to protect the ball when you are extending it out to cross the plane. However, because of the score at the time i think he should have just taken it up the middle and tried to move the pile. When running backs go airborne there is a lot more potential for disaster.

I noticed on his first big run of the season that he didnt switch the ball into the other arm away from where he was going to be tackled and mentioned at that time that he may have a fumbling problem if he didnt take care of the ball better.

Unfortunately I was right. He has fumbled in critical times usually when he was trying to get extra yards. However I do think its a correctable problem one the coaches will work on probably after the season. His talent far outstrips this apparent weakness.

Very bad call. It was overturned because of lack of 'irrefutable evidence...' lada la la. The refs lucked out in this excuse since it was kind of hard to tell unless you look real close. But, he was down when the ball came out. Heck, on one replay it looked like the nose of the ball just barely touched the goal line!!!

Ronnie fumble twice in the red zone this year. Not the most earth shattering thing. Ok, he is a rookie and rookies are prone to make mistakes. As long as he learns from them and tries his best to protect the ball.

ahhhhh....the good old days
