GIANTS CLOSE TO LANDING LAVAR
Newsday reports that the New York Giants are close to signing free-agent linebacker LaVar Arrington.
And since the article wasn't written by Bob "T.O. Defeats Eagles" Glauber, we're prepared to say that the item is legit.
Arrington reportedly wants $18 million in guaranteed money. He returned to New York for a second visit with the team on Thursday, and he took a physical. We heard the physical included an MRI on his knee.
There have been rumblings that Arrington's knee has no cartilage, and that he will eventually need microfracture surgery. Apparently, the Giants concluded otherwise, or they wouldn't be so close to doing the deal.
Meanwhile, the Packers have been advised that they are out of the Arrington derby.

owell saves miami money

Ijust hope they get him soon so we don't have to endure any more Arrington updates.
I don't care if we don't get him. I'd rather get Seau back if possible and draft a young one to learn from Crowder, Seau and Zach!

The $$$ Means More Then Winning?

See ya Levar....There is NO Team in $...

I'm not going to lie and say I didn't want him. Would have been nice, but the Harrington acquisition is the more important of the two. Let's hope that goes goes through soon.

So you would sign with a team offering you much less money just because you MAY win more? The Giants are as good as us, and offered him more money. LA doesnt have loyalty to to us.

Anyway im sure you would turn down 18M garanteed to sign with a different team. Suuuuuure.
The G-Men are a very good team. The have a good young QB, a pair of awesome DE's, a top 5 RB, a great offense in general. Now LA shores up the defense. There is a very real possiblity that the G-Men will go deep into the post-season this year. But Lavar is all about the money for signing with them

Ahhh who cares. he said he that miami's his first choice and if he chooses $ over miami then whocares i don't want him here.

It's extremely hilarious how Lavar is being berated for doing exactly what most pro athletes do, namely going where the money is.

I applied for a new position at work recently, which I did not get, but the starting salary was 2k less than what I was making. They were probably going to give me a small raise based on my current salary instead, but suppose for a minute they couldn't...do you think I would have taken the new job for a pay cut, even if I preferred it to my old role?
