Arthur Staple, of Newsday, reports the New York Giants and free agent LB LaVar Arrington (Redskins) have been in serious contract discussions for the past 24 hours and are very close to completing a deal, according to a person with knowledge of the talks. His agents, Kevin and Carl Poston, opened further talks with the Giants Thursday night, April 20, and they went into Friday evening, April 21. Arrington passed the physical the Giants administered Thursday. Arrington could sign with the Giants before the end of the evening.

I am not surprised.He said he wanted to play in the NFC East ,that he loved NY and that he had many friends there.

He changed his story when he didnt get the contract he wanted but that statement was made before he started to negotiate his deal with other teams so I think he was being sincere........on that occasion.

I agree. He also said he wanted to play against the skins twice a year. I'm just all this nonsense is over with. Us fans can move forward. I also believe that our current lb corp still affords the luxury of taking bpa....

Nahh we still take Chad Jackson, WR, Florida in the 1st, and go for an LB in the 3rd. OR, we trade down and take a WR and LB in the 1st and 2nd.

Packers | Team told Arrington signing elsewhere; most likely with the Giants

Tom Silverstein, of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, reports according to a National Football League source, the Green Bay Packers were informed that free agent LB LaVar Arrington (Redskins) planned on signing with another team. It's unclear who Arrington is going to sign with, but his visit to the New York Giants is a pretty good sign that they are in the lead for his services.
