Giants/Vikings game postponed, Metrodome roof collapses under heavy snow

ya, just heard about the roof collapse, thats crazy. this is why i believe, and always have believed that all football stadiums should be outdoor and no domes.

i mean, yes this is a rare case and usually roofs don't collapse, but its not even about that. a team especially like the vikings would have one of the biggest home field advantages in football come late november, december, and jan. maybe they would not have as big of an advantage vs the bears or packers because those teams play in frigid weather in the winter also, but imagine a team like dallas, giants, eagles, falcons, saints, cardinals, whomever having to come to play a playoff game in minn in the outdoors in the winter? the temperatures in minn are in the single digits most of the winter, and then factor in the windchill, it feels like below zero.

they would have a home field advantage like no other team. very few places in the U.S have as extreme cold winters as minn. maybe now when they build their new stadium ( if they ever do) they will build an outside stadium, as should all teams in general, bc football is not meant to be played in domes. domes are for vagina's.

TCF Bank Stadium remains a possibility, but since the Giants didn't pack cold weather uniforms and gear, and the projected low in Minneapolis on Monday night is expected to be in the negatives single digits, it is a long shot.

Ford Field in Detroit and Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis have become candidates since they are domes, and both the Colts and Lions are on the road this week.

I Agree Ilovemyfins4eva, I too hate domes, but being in Minnesota maybe they should have a retractable roof stadium if they ever build a new one.

I agree with Adam First aswell. Only thing, will moving it to Detroit or Indy be feasable for the fans, with such a short notice?

They've shown video from inside the Metrodome of the roof collapsing on Fox NFL Sunday.

Unreal stuff.

im not gonna lie, that is so freakin cool. thankfully no one was inside at the time.

this is why teams should not have domes, and also because outdoor football is how it should be, no ***** football in domes. make teams like the falcons, saints, colts, cowboys, etc play in real weather condition, not in the luxury of a controlled weather climate.
