Interesting info on Gibril Wilson.....

The treasure of Sierra Leone, safety Gibril Wilson, seeks to rebound from a lousy season in Oakland and regain past Giant glory on the Dolphins.

I don't think being #1 in tackles at your position can be called having a "lousy" season.

Wilson calls the release "probably the best thing that happened to me in a long time." And it was an easy decision to join Bill Parcells, Tony Sparano, and many other former Dallas Cowboys employees who had relocated to Davie. Wilson had faced them while a member of the New York Giants from 2004-07. He knew they wouldn't tolerate mediocrity, like the Raiders had.

"That's what I want to be around, people who demand high standards from everybody," Wilson said.

I know many people have taken Pat White as their savior....Ate of his body, and, drank of his blood and all that. Me? I think Gibril Wilson was the single biggest plus up to any position on the field. This includes every FA pick and draft pick.

I agree with everybody else. If 129 tackles, 2 picks, and 3 Fumble Recoveries is lousy, then I cannot wait to see what a great season looks like from him...

I don't think he's talking about his individual accomplishment but the team's accomplishement or lack thereof. So what if he had the individual stats. When your team doesn't make the playoffs, it's a lousy season.

Wilson is a solid pickup that will show us just how much we needed someone like him at that position. I loved picking up this guy and I think he's poised for a huge season, especially with our new defensive scheme.

Was very surprised when we signed Wilson and even more surprised when we re-signed Bell a few hours later. They'll be one of the top 5 Safety tandems in the league. I also think he was our best FA signing.
