Gibson! Sing HIM!

I know I seen this posted somewhere, but he was released by the Steelers. I loved this kid at Georgia and actually wanted to draft him, because of David Boston and his injury bug. Lets not wait on this kid, he is tall , lanky and fast!

He was a 4th round pick and IM pretty sure if coached correctly could make a difference here in Miami. I really thought he was first round material and when the 4th round came I was thinking either him or Mcpherson. I hope Saban doesn't wait too long on this, he will regret it. When we make our move next season for our QB, Chambers, Booker and Gibson will look good.

IM not saying he is Randy Moss.. But there was just something about him that reminded me of Moss when he first came into the league. That great speeed, athletic ability and hands.. The Body type too.

Come on Nick!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! GRAB HIM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My voice isn't too good, so instead of singing him, what if Saban just signs him to the PS...???

Fred Gibson Grade: 3.61
Position: WR
Class: Sr
School: Georgia
Conference: SEC
Ht., Wt.: 6-4, 196
40 Time: 4.62
Selected by: Pittsburgh Steelers
Round 4, pick 30 (131 overall) Grading System

BIO: Three-year starter who saw limited action with the first team as a freshman. All-Conference selection last year after posting 49/801/7. Has 10 100-yard career receiving games to his credit.

POSITIVES: Fluid pass catcher with excellent size/speed numbers. Solid route runner who is sharp into breaks and stays low on exit. Extends to snatch the ball from the air, quickly transitions to running after the catch and displays a burst of speed. Easily adjusts to the errant throw or gets down to scoop up the low pass. Deceptively fast and runs to the deep ball. Tracks the pass in the air, runs well laterally and shields opponents away with his frame. Nicely times receptions getting vertical to high point the ball. Possesses soft, sure hands.

NEGATIVES: Does not win out in battles like he should or hears footsteps then gathers into receptions. More built-up speed than sudden explosion. Loses focus, concentration and as a result drops a lot of catchable throws.

ANALYSIS: An athletic prospect with an abundant amount of natural ability, Gibson shows flashes of dominance on the field, yet has been spotty with his dedication to football. Possesses first-round skill and the ability to develop into a No. 1 receiver at the next level, yet must motivate himself and prove that he is willing to pay the price.

PROJECTION: Late Third Round

GOOD CALL!!!!!!!!

As an SEC fan, I'm not very excited about this guy.
He has awesome physical tools.
But, he can't catch a cold and NEVER showed up for big games.

he can be a very good wr when he wants to be sounds to me like he just needs to mature some still very young....

I'm UGA grad and have to say I disagree with you about Fred never showing up for big games. He would show up but the problem would be that he would only make a brief appearance in say the 2nd and 4th quarters and be completely MIA the rest of the game. He could be counted on for a big play or two but then you would totally forget he was in the game. Very inconsistent effort was his trademark.

Very talented WR but as someone else pointed out I am not sure football is his first love. I have played pickup basketball with him a few times on my visits back to UGA and I suspect that may be his first love. If Fred could become more consistent I do think the Dolphins might have gotten a steal, but it is not a given that is going to occur. Still I would rather have a high reward type player on the PS than someone who just don't have the talent to ever amount to much of a player in the league.

An Intresting pick up.

Thanks for the info, he needs to work son some things but hes a developmental guy like Wright. I wouldnt be surprised if he gets let go though.

Dude was it after Road Warrior when you first felt this urge for Mel? Or was it Braveheart that made you flush?

FREEDOM! I was gonna bring up The Passion due to this guys infatuation with Mel, but I decided not to.
