Gil Brandt: Dolphins want to trade down

I am all for trading down. Some people here mentioned that trading down is get out of impact players. What about Seattle? how did they build their team?

Pretty sure the title means trade up. Trade up to #9 with buffalo. It doesn't make sense to say trade down when moving up the draft board. Just like when a player moves up I the draft board, means they are likely to be picked sooner.

Just confusing. Andrew abramson is saying the same thing on twitter. That Miami want to trade down, but he means up. Or am I missing something.

You are missing something. The Dolphins would want to trade down, which means they want to have a latter pick in the first round in order to acquire extra draft picks from the team they switched places with in the first round.

Theres no way we get anything better than a second and fifth round pick. Wouldn't mind trading the first pick for an established star player like Ben Grubbs

All this trade down nonsense, screw that. let's move up and draft a monster, a pro bowl player, a difference maker! Trading down for mediocre players is the reason we go 7-9, 8-8 every year! Let's take a chance like last year. What the heck, can't hurt? No?

Depends on how the draft plays out. Trading down cost us Earl Thomas whom is the type of player that creates a consistent winner. The guys we got (Misi, Odrick) are solid starters but are not difference makers.

Not saying player like that will be there but if someone falls we need to stand pat and take that player.

in this draft, trading down (if there is someone willing to give us a fair deal) is the way to go!

Seattle's best player was drafted 2 spots after we traded down in 2010, which netted us a situational D-lineman and an average olb. Safety was also a much bigger position of need at the time than D line.

So the tweet in the OP says the bills want to move up from 9, and dolphins want to move down from 19...so the bills want to pick sooner than 9? Also, why even mention the bills and dolphins in the same tweet. Makes it sound like they would be good trade partners...

No. The team has too many needs.
