9. Miami

Nick Saban took a team that went 4-12 in 2004 and guided it to a 9-7 mark in 2005 despite a glaring weakness at quarterback. Miami traded for Daunte Culpepper to direct a passing attack that ranked 16th last season, and also traded for Joey Harrington as a backup and possible early-season starter. The loss of Ricky Williams will hurt the running game, but Culpepper will be a huge upgrade at quarterback if he is healthy. The team hired two coordinators who were head coaches in 2005. Miami will play at Pittsburgh, Chicago and Indianapolis, but has only one cold-weather game (Dec. 17 at Buffalo). The bye will come in Week 8, right before the game in Chicago.

Not too bad, but there are far too many highly ranked teams who have done nothing to earn that rank.

5. New England
They aren't even top 5 in the AFC, didn't they have the worst record of all the AFC playoff teams? Must have gotten that rank from their great FA signings and draft. :sidelol:

I swear the whole team could die and they still would be in the top ten. :tantrum:

when you make it to the top, your on top until you've clearly fallen off, plain and simple.

Just like for us, when you've hit bottom, your stuck there until you've clearly made it out.

New England gets the benefit of a doubt regardless of what happens in FA. 3 Superbowls in 5 years (even with major injury issues) will do that.

You can say that about us.

Thats True, Im sure we can find someone to rank the dolphins#1, But that would be just another scumbag making a ranking. When he season starts then we can see how good everybody is.

#9 in NFL = #6 in AFC = Last wild card spot according to rankings. Just thought I would state the obvious.

i agree but not being biased...new england is still ahead of us....theyve won we havent....this year we have a shot but we havent done it yet

9th is really good IMO.We have alot of question marks going into the season IMO.

Doesnt matter if they have won before, that means nothing this year

If your team doesnt match up on paper than you are a worse team regardless of what you did years past

They lost to much to be top 5

Imo they deserve to be in the top 5. Football is not played on paper. Bill Belichick is the best coach in the NFL. Can you name the Patriots running back from their first Super Bowl win?
