[h=3]2) Miami Dolphins
Key additions: DT Ndamukong Suh, TE Jordan Cameron, WR DeVante Parker.

Suh might have cost a lot, but it's hard to overstate the impact he can have on a team. He's a tremendously competitive and hard-working guy who makes everyone around him better, and he should seriously elevate a defense that was already decent (12th overall in 2014) before he arrived.

Health has been an issue for Cameron, but if the tight end can stay on the field, he'll be a boon to quarterback Ryan Tannehill. Cameron's larger, faster and more athletic than departed tight end Charles Clay. Parker and second-year pro Jarvis Landry are two very good young receivers, while trade acquisition Kenny Still also should help. Getting back tackle Branden Albert -- who missed seven games in 2014 with ACL and MCL tears -- will be huge.

I think there's a great chance either the Dolphins or the Jets join the Patriots as AFC East teams in the playoffs. I like the Jets' overall roster a bit better, but the Dolphins do have Tannehill under center and could snag a wild-card berth if the Jets stumble.

kind words.

in hindsight I'm very happy with how the FO handled the Charles Clay situation. we made the Jills overpay, we offered to keep him on our terms, and had a backup plan ready to go when he followed the money to Barfalo....

bravo.

edit: should also be noted for thread skimmers they had the Jets at #1. They are getting a ton of love from the media.

Is it safe to say that the AFC East has the strongest rosters over the other divisions?

It's up there for sure. NFC North has a lot of talent in it. AFC North too. But our division is pretty stacked at every position bar OL.

i really don't understand the media love for the Jets. they have a new head coach and guy that should be working at McDonalds as a starting QB. i think they will be better with bringing in Brandon Marshall, Darrelle Revis and Leonard Williams but saying they are a playoff team is a huge stretch. Miami and Buffalo are clearly 2A and 2B behind New England.

If the Jets can earn a playoff birth, as much as I hate them I would have to give them (and especially Bowles) props. That team was a MESS last season.

Conversely, if the Jets earn a playoff birth and the Dolphins do not it'll be yet another season some team has gone from the AFC East dumpster and passed the Dolphins who were/are perpetually "so close to a playoff birth".

I don't want to even think about it. I can say with this roster, if we miss the playoffs we are either cursed, anchored to the ocean floor by our head coach (I call it being "Philbin'd"), or both.

this can't be...maester gil brandt died and had his body burned and now his watch is done on the wall...sam said so

Gil Brandt is 82 years old and leading up to the 2014 Draft, he thought that Johnny Manziel should be the first player drafted. Let's appreciate his kind words but he's not always right.

Anything can happen this season. Every team in the AFCE improved except for NE who lost key players on defense and the suspension of the Cheater.
If we had a better HC, I would put the Fins on top. Right now it is a toss up.

82 is the new 79.

isn't it weird to see all the positive press for the Jets, phins and Bills? it's been a long time coming.
