The Ginn pick replaces Wes Welker.
Welker led team in receptions last year and was our premium
return specialist. Now we have upgraded Welkers position on the Dolphins team. IM looking for the silver lining to this blown pick. I feel because Russell and the two best OTs were no longer on the board and the fact that this is a deep WR draft, this pick could have been made for a WR in round 2 or 3.
Quinn was the choice, and I am absolutely nausated to my stomach we did not pick him. This was our bigest need and Quinn fell in our laps!!!
Another positive thing about what we have done is open up the door for Chris Chambers return to the slot, where he was in 2005 and had a carrer year. In 06 CHambers played very little out of the slot.
But now the problem still remains, who will throw these two the ball!!!

I would rather have quinn jarrett as opposed to beck ginn
we could have had this!

I still can't see how they can justify picking Ginn with Quinn in our laps. Our biggest needs are OL and QB and we solidified neither with our 9th pick. Last year we wasted and reached on Jason Allen who had an injury and again this year on another injured player. I've already drank all my beer and have moved on to the Crown, it's just been one of those days.

I've gone from the Crown to the heroin at this point.

I don't drink very often either, this draft though...I'm completed smashed. I hate that the fins do this to me every year. I love the draft more than the super bowl because at least Miami participates! God they make me mad

ProudMonkey, i understand your frustration completely and desire to make something positive out of today, but... we replaced Welker, who we got 2nd round compensation for (and were happy for it by and large) with our FIRST round pick. we got a return specialist at number 9 overall.

IF Ginn Jr. is salvagebale as an NFL wide receiver (he is small, ran only THREE routes at OSU, and didn't run them very well), he still won't go over the middle like Welker could.

so the FO then goes out and drafts the QB (at number 40 overall mind you) who will be 26 years old at the start of this season. so IF he pans out, and that is another big IF, he will contribute when he is 28 or 29 years old.

maybe i am wrong but i am thinking he would've been there at 60, for his age alone.

we could've had either Quinn and Jarrett or Sidney Rice.

You don't use a 9th overall pick to replace a #3 WR and below average return man.

this is an absolutely horrible pick. i think i just deflated yesterday when I heard this clown's name. this is not a good start for Cameron and I think he just completely alienated the fan base. I can't think of one single reason that this is smart idea.

During his press conference he said "this guy is going to be a great punt returner." So, basically we passed up on a player that is going to be great for some jerk off that will touch the ball 6-10 times a game if you include receptions. This is going to be bad.

Ginn can only HOPE and PRAY to have the impact that Welker had.

Welker was a hard working player, Ginn is a hard working player with sick speed. Every time Ginn touches the ball we have a real chance to score.

blown pick lol you Quinn lovers crack me up. You guys act like we were supposed to pick Quinn only we said the wrong name...... No, Quinn isnt a dolphin.... We were never even interested in picking him at 9, let alone trading up for him..... we kept it secret that we had no interest but you guys bit the hype. Had quinn been gone by 9 nobody would complain, but its all the fact that we passed on YOUR guy. Turns out nobody really wanted Quinn with their first round pick... he's just way overhyped as the pretty boy from ND on ESPN like Lienart was at USC. However.... teams after us were caught scrambling when we took Ginn.

In the end we got exactly who we wanted going in with the 1st two picks.... and thats HUGE !!!!! Didnt have to move up either. not many teams can say that. Mueller was even smart enough to have the whole nation thinking quinn wouldnt pass our pick... nice attempt atleast !! ( to trade down )
