Both of these guys are looking like being the number 1 WR on their teams nxt yr - what sort of stats you guys think they are gonna put up? similar physical attributes, size speed etc with very little experience no.1 target.

either way - you just need to get the ball into their hands and let them play

Hester won't be the #1 guy in Chicago. i think both Booker and Bradley are ahead of him on the depth chart and IMO they're going to draft a WR high this year.

Both of these guys are going to be good returners, but I really dont see these guys being #1 WR on their respective teams. Maybe a couple years down the line. I think they could both be the #2 options.

I think Ginn is the better reciever, and Hester the better returner. Both are speed demons though. I'd like to see them race.

That being said I don't know why Chicago didn't use Hester more last year though.

Ginn will be a #1 reciever in the NFL, Hester on the other hand will not be. Especially not this coming year. Hester had horrible hands as a reciever last year and Ginn caught pretty much everything that was a good pass to him. As a returner though you would have to take Hester over Ginn just based purely on results. Thats not to say that if you put Ginn behind his special teams unit he wouldn't have as many or more TD's than Hester.

Both guys are explosive players in the NFL and I think with better special teams this year we are really going to see what Ginn can do as a returner. I believe he has the ability to be a game changer like Hester by making the other team not even kick to him. Ginn didn't have any room last year to run really and still took 3 back with 2 brought back by stupid penalties that didn't even affect the play. Who knows what the kid is going to do with some good blocking infront of him.

I don't like to predict stats, partly because it sets the fans up for a letdown and partly because I'm not very good at it.

I think Ginn has a chance to become a good #1 WR, but more likely he will have a chance to be a very good #2 or decent #1 option. He definitely has more upside that Hester when it comes to the WR spot.

Both men are excellent ST players, they might be #1 and 2 in the whole NFL. Hester definitely has the edge so far, but Ginn isn't far behind if he continues to develop and the ST's around him continues to improve. That was the biggest difference between these two players last year, Hester was routinely getting 4-5 man escorts into the endzone and Ginn was bobbing and weaving as soon as he caught the ball because the blocking was horrible. If the blocking is equal, Ginn might (and I stress might) be able to give Hester a run for his money.

Being from Chicago i hear on local radio sports that Hester is not smart enough to grasp the playbook. Hes a speed freak on ST so they just let him do his thing. Ginn for sure a #2 with a good chance of being #1 with line protecting beck.

Here is my race prediction:

Distance Winner

1-10 Hester

1-20 Hester

1-30 Even

1-40 Even

1-50-60-70-80-90-100.....Ginn

IMO nobody in the NFL can touch Ginn after 40...

But Hester has the best instincts of ANY return man I have ever seen.

If I was Chicago I would continue to line Hester up in the slot occasionally, why risk injuring a guy who has in all honesty won your team games single handidly, for just another decent WR?

Totally agree with you here. Hester has some of the best acceleration Ive ever seen in a football player. I'll never forget the first time I saw him take a kick back at the U (against UF BTW).

Ginn has some of the best breakaway speed Ive ever seen. If he gets into the open field forget about it, sideline for Ginn = TD.

Would love to see them compete in some sort of Speed Skills competition. It'd be damn fun to watch.

Yea that would be fun to watch, ironically both returned an opening kickoff in their respective championship games within a month of eachother....and both went on to lose.

These two guys will be mainstay return man IMO. Some guys have a good year or 2 and then sort of fall off, I dont think Hester and Ginn are going anywhere for a long time.

I am not to worried about Hester. They should just keep him on ST where he has proven that he is the man.
As for Ginn, I am expecting a breakout season, and we all know he needs to.

Ginn is clearly a number 1 option. The guy is always open, he didn't drop anything last year, and he is perhaps the fastest player in the NFL (he is certainly up there). Every week he lines up against an opposing defense he will be the fastest player on the field. Which will force the other team to adjust their defense to him. Why do people want to talk about the guy being only a number 2???? What makes him a number 2??? NOTHING ABOUT THE GUY. Number 2 receivers (in case we have forgotten, or need an explanation) or guys that feed off of the coverage assigned to the number 1 receiver. Typically guys that arent burners, and don't usually take a ball the distance to the house. They are guys that help your team hold on to the football on offense.

A good example (even though he caught more balls) would be wes welker as a number 2. Randy Moss a number 1.

I don't know when the last time we peaked at our roster might be, but it looks to me as if Tedd Ginn is the guy that fits the number 1 receiver role. Wilford clearly fills a number 2, and he was brought in to be a perfect compliment to Tedd Ginn. Before we forget Tedd Ginn was considered the second best receiver in a deep draft of receivers last year. HE WAS PICKED 9th OVERALL. He was as or more productive than all receivers taken except for Dwayne Bowe. In addition, it is EXTREMELY rare for a receiver to produce in his first year - go check the stats. TEDD GINN IS CLEARLY OUR NUMBER 1 RECEIVER. get used to it.

Remember seeing the Bears play last year think it was against the Eagles, where Musin Muhammed had to line Hester up before the snap and tell him which route he was to run. On that evidence I would agree that Hester might not be the smartest. Can really only run streak routes at the moment and would never be able to play in the slot.
