I really hope they use Ginn on returns. He is clearly our most dangerous returner and he doesn't have a high snap count on offense so it shouldn't wear him out.

With Patrick Cobbs suffering a season-ending anterior cruciate ligament tear in his left knee, Ginn is campaigning for another chance to prove he can provide the special teams punch the Dolphins (2-3) need.

I agree, Ginn is fast enough to atlest get the ball to the 25-27 on a bad return. I loved Cobb as a back, but his returns would struggle to get to the 20.

I've said it a million times, not having Ginn back on KR's takes away the best part of his game. I want him on KR's and PR's. I understand the logic about not wanting to get him hurt, or wanting to keep him fresh for offensive possessions. But the guy has playmaking/gamebreaking speed best utilized on returns. He needs to be back there.

Why not have him Return kicks and punts. He is barely getting 4 or 5 passes a game anyway.

I'd rather him be too tired to play WR because he's running some kickoffs/punt returns back for some serious yardage then save him for offense. The field position would help us much more in the long run.

For ****s sake, he was drafted as the most dangerous KR/PR in college football that year, we have a great weapon on the Return game, why not build around that by giving him better blocking

Well, then why in the world did we just pick up Kory Sheets? Man, I would love to see Ginn back there. I don't understand all the complaining about Ginn being the returner. At worst he would get it to the 22 or 24. I don't know that I remember him being dropped behind the 20... ever.

And the coaching staff rotates the wide receivers so much that it wouldn't even matter.

maybe thats what he needs and the team needs. some players need to get involved in the game to start 'warming up' if that makes any sense. For example he has a good kick return his confidence is up he'd have his head in the game more I would think.

I keep yelling the same thing at the TV every week. (you'd think eventually I'd realize that they can't hear me, but ... :chuckle: )

"And Ginn lost the kick return job to Cobbs late last season and then again after the season-opening loss to the Falcons, when Ginn failed to reach the 20-yard line in three tries."

Patrick also failed to reach the 20 in that game, TERRIBLE blocking. That game was just bad, you don't lose your job b/c of 3 returns, Especially if you didnt fumble it or run back 20 yards. Give him 25 returns before you take it away, I bet he returns atleast 1 for a TD and a couple to the 50, he needs more chances than 10.

He showed that he has the ability to take it to the house...if the rest of the return team can hold up their end of the bargain by blocking clean and not committing any penalties.

That said, I have to take exception with Teddy's comment at the end of the article where he says...'Hit and go'.

On most of his return opportunities he has done anything BUT. At OSU, he saw a seam, and that was it...everyone else literally looked like they were in slow motion.

He was clearly hesitant as soon as he got to the NFL, which was really frustrating to see...especially since I saw nearly every OSU game during his time here.

If you're going to 'hit it and go' Teddy then f***ing hit it and go!!
