I am watching and reading all these posts/articles about how Miami wins with an asterisk ** Ok, they are not the time tested NE Patriots but let’s flip the script. NE is the team on the field today and they go down 17-7 to Oakland. They get things going toward the end of the third like we did and what will all the pundits say? I’ll tell you what... they say NE battled through kept it in reach and well the magnificent talent and coaching finally overcame the upstart team. You know it and I know it.

Well every team is going to have areas to improve every week so I will give credit to this Dolphin team who fought through adversity and got it together and reached deep for the win. The Raiders were scratching and clawing to get their first win and you know they gave it their all. Meanwhile the 1-1 Patriots went up against an 0-2 Detroit team who fought and scratched their way to a win whereas the Dolphins didn’t let that happen to them. There is no asterisks on this win today, sure they have things to work on like everyone else but this team gets credit in my book for winning a game they could have easily lost if they didn’t keep their heads on straight.

The fact that you, or frankly anyone is talking **** on tannehill after the first 3 weeks when ALL OF US EXPECTED him to be rusty as hell is amazing. He’s 3-0 and has a 120+ passer rating. Holy **** what more do you want?

Lol he was being sarcastic as he's constantly defending RT from idiots.

wk 1....tenn....well there starting QB, T and TE didn't finish the game (2-0 against teams not named mia)
wk 2...nyj....we are playing a rookie QB....despite the fact that he lit up a BAD lions team (that just beat the pats) the week before, he's still just a rookie, oh and they were short on rest (1-1 against non Miami)
wk 3....oak....well they were 0-3 so they must suck (0-2 against non Miami)

there, there are the excuses that they will put around our wins even though if you remove the Miami losses for the teams their combined records are 3-3 which isn't horrible

Is to me, or are Oakland not quite as bad as what people thought?

Yes "you are what your record says you are", so they are a winless 0-3 team, but was listening to pre-game show and Crowder was saying eventually Gruden will figure it out and Oak will start winning.

I buy that because what I saw was a team that got off to a fast start and ran out of gas in the 4th, just like the weeks before.

Think Miami deserves credit for destroying them in the 4th, just like Miami deserves credit for...

Putting away a Titans team that has beaten the much touted Texans and Jags...

and for the ultimately comfortable away win at a loud and energized Met life...

No, I agree, the Raiders are not bad. They just can't finish.
I saw Marshawn Lynch's line later on and he was 19 rushes for 64 yards...that's barely 3/carry. It felt like he was doing way better. Carr can really fling it. Just a bad decision to throw that 1st down pick.
They ran well, moved the ball well, play hard; they just fell apart in the last qtr. It was a strange game, i thought.

And the ‘72 Dolphins still haven’t played anybody good. Never mind that season was sandwiched between 2 other SB appearances. Must have had a cupcake schedule from ‘70-‘74, you know, when they were a dynasty with an asterisk.

I agree w the OP but I don’t mind this “no respect” thing.

I was surprised by the Lynch line too. He hasn’t a lot of good runs on 1st down. That one surprised too.

What they're saying about Miami in the Boston Herald:

"DETROIT — The Patriots will get their first look at a division opponent next week, one that currently sits above them in the standings.

Really, who would have thought the Miami Dolphins would be sitting atop the AFC East after three games?

They’ll be headed to Foxboro Sunday unbeaten at 3-0 and looking to show the Patriots they’re no fluke.

So should anyone be worried about a team that went out of it’s way to purge certain clubhouse types and bring in others such as former Pats receiver Danny Amendola?

Let’s just say it’s early and hard to worry about them dethroning the Pats just yet."

Link to rest of the article:
https://www.google.co.uk/amp/www.bo...ns_are_after_they_play_patriots_next_week?amp

It basically reads:
- Yeah, all the teams in the AFC East, apart from NE, suck
- Fins have won a few games, but who exaclty have they beaten? No-one
- They are 3-0 though, so maybe we have to give them some credit, as they are 'technically' the best team in the division at the moment

If you go by Bill Parcells' "you are what your record says you are", Miami is unbeaten and NE are a sub. 500 team! Lol

That might all change very quickly of course, but thought it was a bit arrogant for a newspaper in another area to have an article like that...
