For me, it started off with the secondary...They were abysmal (Favre's lucky lob, Boldin running free), that seems to have been taken care of. There was also the problems on offense (not finishing drives vs the Jets, basically being shutout by the Cards), that has been taken care of bc of a little innovation and great QB play by CP.
Our offense is playing well, and our secondary is playing lights out.
Now our biggest problem, without a doubt, is our special teams coverage unit. Carpenter's accuracy on FGs has been great thus far. And the coaching finally realized Bess isn't cutting it as a return guy so they put Ted Ginn back, and change in that roster move is clearly evident. But man, first Jacoby Jones and his stinkin' run that some could argue cost us the game, and then Eddie Royal's run that almost changed the momentum of the game. This was a huuuuge problem last year and the first the trifecta was supposed to change was the ST coverage unit, but it seems as though they've changed everything BUT that unit. Go figure.
Either way, we definitely cannot let a team like the Seahawks who are having big problems moving the ball on offense gain field position and momentum by getting big kickoff/punt returns. That should definitely be a huge topic of discussion during practice this week.

bottom line is they have learned from there mistakes on a week to week basis u do not see the same mistakes being made week in and week out good job by coaching staff, that is something we lacked last year

We still need:

1-2 players in the secondary
1 RG
1-2 WRs
1 LB

in the offseason everyone was arguing that we have all this money and that we were paying scrubs to come in here and no proven big names. the reasoning was that the trifecta knew how to build a team, through the lines and ST. all that offseason work is paying off except for the part that got the most work ST. this year we should see a lot of pickups for depth and pickups for special teams, whether in Fa or later rounds of the draft.

we have a lot of new guys on this team...they need time together...is starting to show that they're coming along...the o-line always takes time but they've shown flashes of what they can do and so has the d-line...we need more consistency but that should come with time.

Ozzy rules!!

We have a very good coaching staff that is addressing problems within the season. That is a huge change. The players are living up to their end of the bargain. Most of the players are improving, competing, and changing their behaviors. We need more talent, but I am very happy with the results.

John Beck blows at standing on the sideline in uniform.

Play calling/Coaching in general (at times)

It's easy to say the secondary because of how awful it's been at times. But Play calling has been suspect at so many points this season it at least deserves a mention. There are times we elected not to go for it in very short yardage situations, there are times that in short yardage situations we went for it with a strange call like a Pennington drop back pass. There have been instances on second and third down where we have ran the ball in long yardage situations.

Although i have to say the innovative Wild Cat has vastly helped this team at times, and often we've made some very good play calls. I think i'll borrow from a word that showed up in this thread earlier "inconsistency", inconsistency with the play calling. Sometimes we look flat out stupid, others like Nute Rockne or something.

Clock/Timeout management is another big problem this team has had at times.

Sometimes it seems that we get off to a real good start and just sort of wait it out. We then have to make a great drive at the end to seal it. It seems that our offensive play calling sort of goes of track. We can bury a team with what has been working then we run two wildcats into a brick wall and punt. We need to work on finishing teams a little earlier and use our power running and short passing to finish it.

-Defensive consistency. You never know what you're going to get from this group. Sometimes they come out flat, sometimes they come out on fire and shut down just about everything.

-Offensive playcalling. Sometimes i'm loving it, sometimes i'm scratching my head at what exactly they were thinking.

-lack of blitzing. we don't blitz often enough to make up for our incosistant secondary. we can't expect these guys in our secondary to cover all day long. we need to get to the QB, and we can't expect Porter to be the only one to do it.
