Give Thigpen a roster spot asap

I didn't like ditching Thiggy and Don Jones, 2 very decent special teamers. But Damien Williams should get the nod at returning some kicks, Landry's bumbled it enough.

I must sincerely offer to apologize to Thigpen. When I was bagging on him as returner and begging the team to get a real returner, I had no idea that it could get way worse.

It did.

Putting Landry as returner not only risks his upside career at WR, it hurts the team big time.

Whoever dreamed that up is foolish. And whoever keeps him back there is a stone cold idiot.

we once had a returner named mark clayton who would occasionally fumble and do stupid ****....he turned out ok. That being said Thigpin was not good last year and we needed an upgrade. Landry has had a few nice ones as well, i think he will be ok

Should give Matthews a crack at returns.

As long as it doesn't prevent him from being able to make that one super cool looking play every couple games, like him trucking a safety today or some of those Orondo Gadsden catches.

Thigpen needs to be returning kicks. That's 2 fumbles on the season for Landry in only 4 games. Bring back Thigpen and release Darkwa.

]I like the way Landry runs with the ball, I'm willing to give him more time.

Trying hard isn't a problem with this kid, and he will get better as his reps increase. You have to be willing to give some lead way with young players. This whole, bench a guy after a mistake or two is pointless.

Landry`s upside as a returner is wes Welker like... nothing spectacular, so if he`s going fumble at this rate, its obviously not worth it and even hurting the teams chance of winning on any given day...

Landry is really good on kick-offs. Awful on punt returns.

He shows little field awareness on punt returns and you can't have a 40-60 yard mistake fumbling in those situations nor can you have a 10-20 yard mistake not knowing when to fair catch/bounce over your head/run up and field it.

It's hard to justify a spot on the team for someone who only returns punts however what does Orleans Darkwa offer this team?

Addressing the PR/KR with a specialist doesn't seem to me to be an issue with Darkwa. I think Darkwa loses his spot as soon as Moreno is back. I hate to say it, but it seems Daniel Thomas has made a case for us to be deciding between him and D. Williams if we add a KR/PR specialist.

Frankly, I'd like to see Moreno, Miller, Williams and LaMichael James. James is more of a mold of RB we could develop and he's an immediate upgrade at KR/PR. He has experience in this system.

I applaud Daniel Thomas' newfound passion in running and recieving, I'm just afraid he will go back to old habits as soon as he feels he is not threatened.

Remember how we were blasting pigpen last year? Landry runs tougher and is making some yards after contact. He's had a big return. He's botched some returns but I wouldn't quit on him yet. Reminds me of McDuffie running punts back his rookie year - not the fastest guy, had some fumbles (one went back for a TD) but also had 1 or 2 TDs if I recall. However long term I like fast guys back there. I just don't see pigpen as the answer.

I think he is better than people realize. You do realize he is a rookie and just trying to win for the team? He is taking chances, that's all. Yes, he fumbled, it happens. I like him back there. He is making rookie mistakes, give him a chance, it's been 4 games in his rookie season. Some people!!!
