that is just ridiculous. he should have atleast 20 carries every game. we have two great running backs and we only run 17 times between both of them. dan henning needs to back up and look at the athletes that he has and make a new game plan. RUN THE BALL!!!

Couldnt agree more. At least now we dont have to deal with all the annoying niners fans. Bring on the chiefs!

Couldn`t agree more. Come on Henning, give Ronnie the rock!!

I was yelling the exact same thing. Our O-Line must be horrendous. With Ronnie & Ricky we should be POUNDING thr ball straight up the middle 30-40 times per game. And that toss back to Ronnie on third down where we ended up missing the field goal by 6 inches was inexplicable. Thank G*d for our much maligned "D", for without them we would already be talking about next year.

Thanks to the Jills we have to win our next two games in order to win the division even if the Jets lose next week! If our "O" doesn't wake up, we will be talking about what an improvement over last year it was with a bright future ahead of us but this year will be over!

What we need to do is open up the offense a little be more, not only run the ball we need to throw it deep at least once or twice per game, we score on a 61 yds play today but the pass was only 25 yds or so.

By the way the catch on that play was all the tight end.

What I dont get is why we've been pass happy all year. Its been good at times but you need to run the ball, which I thought would be a strength all year. They aren't even going away from the run because its ineffective...they are simply NOT running the ball. Today was by far the most frustrating game that involved not running the ball.

Agree with running the ball. RB is too talented not to run at least 15 to 20 times a game. However, I am liking 9 wins in 14 games...especially after only 1 in last season. Can't complain about the results.:hi5:

we only ran barely 30 plays, SF held the ball for a good 17 minutes longer than we did. If you watched, we were 3rd and long so many times in the 2nd Half, we couldn't get the 1st on an obvious pass play. If we got the 1st, then we'd be more comfortable running it.

It took some serious trick runs at the end of the game when Ronnie gained all those yards. On the huge 3rd we didn't get, they saw the trick toss all over again and gave him a nice pop to get to 4th.

Bottomline, we did NOT run well at all today. Oline was WEAK!

ALSO, we ran a TOTAL of 41 plays, 19 were passes, 22 were runs. Time of Possession is the exact reason why we didn't run it more today.

If we wouldve run then we could have controlled the clock.. but i remember one possesion where we threw the ball on 1st and 2nd down and both were incomplete. So we were forced to throw the ball again on 3rd.

kidding??

You guys are kidding right? Ronnie gained 80% of his yards on those 2 carries on the last drive, before then he was averaging about 2.5 yards a carry, no where near enough to get first downs consistently by running it. Ricky averaged the same.

O-Line played badly today in the run block game,

And thats not even to mention that we only had the ball for 20 minutes.... compared to 40 for SF... so not too many plays to call.

Lastly, we had more run plays called than pass plays..........

????????????????????????????

The lack of knowledge of the actual game of football by some of the posters here is ridiculous.

Just blindly saying "yah we need to run the ball more" is pretty dumb when you don't even look at the circumstances of the game. Do you really think that the coaches are making worse decisions about what to do in the actual game than us on the board here??? lol?????

the o-line did play very poorly. i agree. Even with the line playing bad. the coaches didnt have to call a toss play everytime we ran.

if we ran more we would have controlled the clock more. do u know when u dont complete a pass the clock stops. if you run then the clock keeps going.

umm.. as i said before.. between ricky and ronnie.. they had 17 carries.

And please don't question other people's knowledge because that just makes you sound ignorant because you don't know everything.
