The bad news is the Dolphins have allowed more sacks than any NFL team except the Oakland Raiders, whose pass protection is every bit as flawed and incompetent as Miami's.

The 15 sacks Miami has allowed have been characterized at times as ''embarrassing,'' and other times have caused frustration such that grown men in Miami's offensive huddle have angrily implored each other to block somebody.

This while Nick Saban is blaming everyone for the problem.

''Everybody on the team needs to do their jobs, wherever the protection is,'' Saban said Monday, after a five-sack day by the Tennessee Titans on Sunday. ``We have to do a good job as coaches of having a good plan in terms of what the protection scheme is, and once we determine that, we have to do a good job of executing it.

The bad news IS that Miami has given up more sacks than anyone else except Oakland, and those sacks turn into negative yardage, a more predictable offensive scheme, and of course our quarterback getting beat up. True, there are 11 people on offense, and every last one of them need to do thier jobs out there on the field. The most important part of the offense though is the line - if they play poorly, the skill players cannot get involved due to the play failing at the line of scrimmage, from the snap. Nick's still right though (except for Ronnie and Welker and the few others, but I'm sure they know who they are). Get on the field, and do your damn job.

e] The bad thing is we only gave 22 sacks all last year and after 3 games we have given up 15!!!

Amazes me how some fans come on and say that it isnt the O-Line that is the problem and are solely blaming Culpepper  Until the O-Line can generate some sort of positive consistency over a whole 60mins of play then how are we supposed to seriously evaluate Culpep.

Exactly, it makes absolutely no sense that there are a million Culpepper threads for every three O line threads. The sacks are a problem this team needs to fix immediately. They are complete drive killers and take the momentum out of the players. When you have multiple sacks a game your chances of scoring, gaining momentum, and playing the field position game diminish greatly.

I've read a lot of good points on this board today including this one,i'am really starting to think that these problems we are having are all lineman related.

i posted this earlier, how i repeat how did daunte look so good against the steelers and then regress,{i know about the two picks at the end} don't tell me you guys were'nt as excited as i was about his play. what happened?? did he forget everything in week two and three i think not,did other coaches study the game tapes on how to attack our oline?? yes,we have'nt adapted and daunte is paying the price,he's taking the sacks to avoid interceptions.

that being said i think now he has become a little gunshy and avoids looking down field, oline must come together so we can see his full arsenal of skills.
