glenn dorsey still in discussion ????

They may still contact his agent about discussing a deal, but I think it is pretty much a slim to none chance they draft him. It appears to be down to Jake Long, Chris Long and Vernon Gholsten.

:err:do yall think dorseys still a possibility

Best prospect in the draft in my opinion. Problem is, his height does not fall within the front office's general requirments.

He would really excel as a 3-4 end.

No,

He's too small, and the fact that they didn't send scouts to work him out on his own is a huge flag for me right there that they wont take him.

he would serve almost as little purpose as bringing in chris long. great players but we shouldnt upgrade one of our highest points. i no run d was terrible last year but we did a lot in the offseason to bulk it up. the deciding factor is that he cant play NT. if he could i think that he would be the leading man for #1.

Agrreeed.

I would be more than happy with G. Dorsey, Vernon G. or Chris and Jake.
To many people get too wraped up in this popularity contest and seem to forget the production that Dorsey had , he can change the course of a game like no other player on defense in this draft, but everyone only speak of injurys too small too this and too that, I do not care! If the the big three decide to take him it would not be a mistake like everyone is predicting.
Thats my opinion, like it or leave it, dont try to change my mind and I wont try to change yours!

Dorsey and McFadden have been the concensus #1 pick for a long time until right before this draft. Bill wants a certain size and production and Dorsey brings the production to the table.

It was also interesting that Tony Sparano said at the owners meetings that our starting DE was Matt Roth, along with Ferguson and Starks and ahead of Vonnie Holliday and Rodrigue Wright. If that is the case then DE needs to be upgraded significantly. I doubt it was a slip of the tongue or that our HC knows so little about our personnel that he doesn't know who his starting DL is. He later said Holliday was part of our plans and is probably a starter but would not clarify.

It seems odd that the Dolphins have gone so quiet on Dorsey when it was noted that they were doing more due diligence on him than any player in the draft right after the season. Still waters run deep.......

Regardless of position, Glenn Dorsey is the best player in this draft. He could be the Richard Seymour of the Dolphins D. If he lined up at RDT/RDE for the Dolphins this year, Jason Taylor would have nearly 20 sacks and no one could run to that side.

All that said, none of us know who the Dolphins want, it sounds like it will come down to J. Long, C. Long, V. Gholston or Dorsey but who really knows..............and with the Dolphins having so many needs a strong case can be made for all of them. The one caveat I have is that if we draft Gholston or C. Long it virtually assures us that we need to trade Jason Taylor, if we draft J. Long or Dorsey then Jason Taylor might be part of our future plans.
