Hey my fellow Dolphans,we've seen the names of HC candidates thrown out there from some of you,but what about some GM candidates? Like maybe try to lure Tom Heckert from Holmgrens grasp,or see if the Ravens will let Ross talk with their assistant GM Eric DeCosta to be our new GM. Are there any candidates out there that any of you would like to see take over, and feel comfortable that our team will be in good hands with this new GM?

Heckert is a 4-3 defense, WCO guy. If we're planning on making the move to that offense and defense then it may be worth a shot but I think his relationship with Holmgren and Shurmer is pretty strong. Don't see him coming this way.

Yea we need to bring in someone from a winning franchise. Saints, Ravens, Pats all come to mind. Green bay too...

If I were Ross, I would target a promising young GM before even considering a HC and then let him make the pick at HC. This strategy has been successful in places like Atlanta and Green Bay. I would much prefer this than going after retreads like Gruden and Cowher who have no personnel experience.

Not the Pats. With the exception of Thomas Dimitroff everyone that has left the Pats has failed.

Scott Pioli was looking pretty good until the chiefs played the last two games.

Word out of KC is that Pioli and Haley had a big riff and Haley didn't even prepare the team to play the first 2 games....

How about some names though guys. As far as Heckert,i wouldn't mind going back to a 4-3 defense, and with Daboll being our OC,perhaps going to a WCO won't be that bad as long as we have a HC,Offensive staff, and QB to run it.

Well who's to say coaches would come if they do not like the GM that we hire or if we Cowher he wants full control. But for sure Irlend has to go

Pioli got suckered somehow by trading for Matt Cassell. Charlie Weiss was using smoke and mirrors last year making Cassell look half way decent.

Here's a name I hear a lot out of Baltimore...Pat Moriarty, Vice President of Football Administration. Make him Executive VP (under Mike Dee) and GM of the Dolphins.

Cowher or Gruden wouldn't come here if Ireland is the GM. I don't think you'll get any coach with experience and half a resume to jump at that.

Heckert has history here too though. His old man was a personnel exec from '89 until '07 and Jr himself was a scout from '91 to '99 and promoted in 2000 before he left to the Eagles. If anyone can pry him away from Cleveland, it could be us.

Heckert as GM, Daboll as OC, Luck as QB. Oh it's nice to dream, is it not?

Didn't Heckert in essence fire Daboll?

Maybe we'll get Luck-y

I still like Ireland. He was not in charge of hiring Sporano remember Parcells was. I believe the talent and the product on the field speaks for itself if properly coached. Three years ago the defense was the issue I believe ranked in the bottom 20 of the NFL last year we were back in the top 10 under Nolan. The wide recievers, running backs, kickers are there. The offensive line and a additional tight end woudl really help. Daniel Thomas showed me that he can run so the running game talent is there where I was worried I would certainly like better depth but DT can carry the running game. Henne is not going to keep pace with Brady or the elite QB's but he is servicable until a young stud is found and we can win with him if the offensive coach and head coach have their act together. Cowher wants only his guys I not sure about that.
