GM Chris Grier 2020 Pre-Draft Press Conference 04/16/2020...

I like what he said when asked if he had an analytics team to provide him and the rest of the front office with an injury predictor - Grier transitioned to Jake Long and Curtis Martin.

Translation: Yeah we have a team that provide us with a printout of that type information. It's good for wiping your ass with.

"It's what the guys do on game film" -> Thank goodness he mentioned the Combine

These two things made me feel a whole lot better.

Btw, Chris Grier has a helluva poker face.

Reckon Grier asked the analytics team why they didn't predict Raekwon McMillan would tear his ACL in his rookie debut? Or that Preston Williams would tear his knee up after 8 games?

Or why they didn't predict Albert Wilson would go in IR with a hip injury? Or why often injured Kenyon Drake just signed a tender worth upwards of $8 million after Miami got rid of him?

Comments he made in the article certainly make it sound like he's not concerned with Tua's injury history.

That's a bunch of bologna they haven't made a decision who they want.

You can only cover your tracks so well, and the amount of vetting they've done of Herbert indicates where they are leaning. They weren't pulling Jedi mind tricks last year when most people thought they liked Wilkins, probably even more troubling no team tried to jump them even with that information. That's a different debate for a different time though.

Hard to listen to that. No information to glean. I kept skipping forward waiting to get to something pertinent.

No offense to the OP or Chris Grier intended. The current state of the process at hand just requires no information to be disseminated.

Tua or Grier out.
If he drafts Tua at 5, I will be alright with the pick. I just don’t want them to trade up and end up using more than one pick on a QB who I think will probably be out of the league in two or three years when he has another hip injury.
Tua fans would be up in arms if the Dolphins used the 5th pick to draft any other player in the draft who has the injury history of Tua. But because they think that Tua is somehow going to be able to avoid more serious injuries in the NFL, they are okay with him being the Dolphins first pick. I would rather see Simmons, Brown, or a LT selected at 5 but I will accept Tua at 5 and enjoy the 2 or 3 seasons he plays for the Dolphins before he is forced to retire because his hip is too injured to keep playing.
