Who are the realistic candidates that Ross should target this year? I'd love Jim Harbaugh, but I don't think he leaves Michigan and Ross probably wants him to stay at Michigan anyway.

None of the lists look to exciting to me:

This team needs an EXPERIENCED HC. It almost makes me want to roll the dice on someone like Mike Shanahan, for all his warts. But sadly there aren't too many experience HC candidates out there that wouldn't be failed retreads.

I wanted Mike Shanahan instead of Gase. He is proven. I would much rather have Harbaugh and even though he claims that he is not leaving, money talks. But, fire everyone and get a competent head of football operations and turn it over to him. Ross needs to just supply paychecks.

Wider what it would take to get Cower back to coaching. And for Us.

I have a feeling Ross is going to drive a Brinks truck to Jim Harbaugh's house. He'll try his damnedest to get him away from Michigan.

Like your idea of a overflowing Brinks Truck but I'd back it up to Ozzie Newsomes Front door and not move it until he unretired.... " Ozzie, The World is Yours "

Quality, experience, knowledge and a friggin proven success.

Just remember: NO head coach has EVER won a super bowl with different teams.

I'm just not that big on Shanahan coming here. Prior winning coach, hasn't been around it in five years. I don't know, maybe that's the way to go since inexperienced coordinators who've never been head coaches don't seem to be getting it done here. But I do think if it's going to be done, it needs to be sweeping change, not a changing out of parts where there's five different opinions in the building who don't arrive at a consensus. God, please help us, please help Mr. Ross make the right moves this time.

La Canfora said it will probably be an experienced former head coach this time. Mike Shanahan is my guess. He interviewed three years ago but the job was given to Gase instead.
