From what we saw last night he needs to get on the treadmill and get in shape.

I respect that response from Ireland. They are hard on him, but they are very reassuring of his talent and his ability. If Vontae can take this trying time in his professional career and use it for inspiration, he (and the team) will be better for it. He has shown flashes of being absolutely elite, but he can never seem to show any type of consistency. This could simply be he has rare spouts of instinct that make him dominant, or instances that he just goes above and beyond, giving 100% of his effort, and <75% other times.

I like how they are handling him.

lets just hope he does. you never know whether they will turn out to be a star or another aging player that had potential but never realized it.
