Do all the rookie's we draft have to make the team?

for example i have 16 picks, i have enough cap to sign them all but do they then all have to make my 53 man roster? or can i just release some as teams often do in reality?

I dont see anything in the rules that says you cant cut them, but in our scenario, why would you draft just to drop em?

Well if you have 16 picks that means to fit them all you would need to have only 37 roster spaces taken. Someone needs to get cut.

You have to be under the cap enough to draft all of those players. You can go over the 53 man roster, but you will have to cut it down shortly after the draft.

Thats what i thought, but when i do cut it down to 53 are the players that i drafted eligible to be cut? (signed fa's aren't for example)

Yes you can cut drafted players. The reason we have it where you can't cut free agents you sign is because i've seen people sign a player for say 5mil, wait until most everyone has spent their money, then cut and re-sign the player for 2mil. I don't think we have to worry about anyone drafting Calvin Johnson, cutting him, then trying to sign him for less than our top 5 salary.
