TJ would look great in aqua and orange I will give you that. I will say he plays more of the possession receiver role (Z position) instead of the down the field stretch receiver (X position). Right now the Fins have Ginn locked up to play X and Wilford signed to play the Z.
Both Ginn and Wilford will need to show the Fins management that they are the answer, or they will be looking for someone else as early as next offseason. So yes, TJ would be an option, depending on what these guys show us this year.
Please keep in mind that Ireland is committed to building this team through the draft and supplement with mid-level free agents. When the team turns the corner to contention, only then will he pull the trigger on a high price guy to fill a specific need. The Fins are nowhere close to this yet.
History shows us that high price free agents RARELY perform at the same level on the new team that they performed at for the original team. I do not have the stats at hand, but I have seen the studies on the trends. For every Terrell Owens (high performer on the team that signed him as a freee agent) there are ten high priced failures to perform at the same or better level. Ireland and Parcells both know this fully.
