It is just more than amazing and depressing that on the golden anniversary of this franchise…..that things have reached this rock bottom point…….we literally proceeded the rest of the year with position coaches running the team….and obviously no one wants to address the elephant in the room…but really doom and gloom with the personal we have in place, no OL, underperforming DL, possible bust FA, No secondary and major questions about quarterback going forward……..and most if not all of it do to the incompetence of the Joe Philbin regime……….and this clueless owner who by all accounts was being counseled to consider a change for QUINN. I have now gone to the side of the fan base who truly believes that we will not win with Ross as owner.

I thought about this too. It's the 50th Superbowl and 50th anniversary for Dolphins and it's a mess. No one has defended Ross for weeks. If he sold the team this forum would crash from everyone rushing on to celebrate.

50 years and this teams been mostly competitive for about 35 years of it. That's just the odds evening out.

Define competitive. To me, 8-8 or 9-7 isn't all that competitive. Yes, you aren't horrible but you're not winning anything. I hate 8-8. We've had a bunch of that. Maybe it just looks better when you've been 4-12 but it's not great.

We've had double digit wins in 21 out of 50 seasons or 42% of the time. We also should have won a ton more with Dan Marino that we ever did. No titles for a once in a lifetime QB? Just awful. The 70's title teams were later victimized by the WFL and the emergence of the Steelers or they could have been the team of that decade. It's been a mixed bag in all honesty with things looking up for the club coming out of four losing years in the AFL when Don came on board to lead us to the promised land. We shot the whole wad by the mid 80's though when you seriously look at it. That was 30 years ago when the Pats came down and ended their losing streak to us in Miami in the '85 title game and sent them to a super bowl. We never got back again. Just look at the reference history below to see the actual numbers....

and obviously no one wants to address the elephant in the room…

Dude, really????

I think people just type **** to type **** without any comprehension of what they're actually typing......there has been no shortage of people trying to address "the elephant in the room" for YEARS! Just do a quick scan of the frontpage or go through the last couple years worth of posts....LOL (unfortunately the owner chooses to think he knows better than anyone with any minimal semblance of common sense)

i just noticed in your sig that you are missing one - Pat White. He started a game against Pitt and got nearly killed on a running play. That makes 17 between Marino and Tannehill. Ouch.

I have read a ton of posts these last two weeks. I also watched a lot of games the last two weeks, esp of Pats, Pack, Giants, and Bengals. You want the elephant in the room? It's the QB. QB play can overcome just about anything. I saw Brady take hits and come back. I saw Rodgers overcome picks. I saw Eli and Dalton just have the ability to come back late.

Does it matter there is a commitment financially here? Offensive line play? Brady was harassed. Don't wanna hear it. Run game, ok their backs ran for 108. I'm sure part of that was based on confusion. Yesterday alone:
Brady 130.0 Rating
Dalton 95
Manning 110
Rodgers 82 - exception to the rule. Ryan had a bad game too, but exception this year.

Agreed. Id like to know who this FA bust is too. No chance it's Suh since he's been doing his job and what has been expected of him. Must be talking about Jennings of which is accurate

Lol. Here we are again comparing Tannehill to Brady l, manning and Rodgers. Dalton, sure the comparison is there but if people are looking for another Brady manning or Rodgers keep waiting, because it's likely you will never see that kind of QB in your lifetimes.

Also, and this is unlikely, but perhaps we need position coaches in these high positions. Perhaps they will relate to the players better, bring new and different ideas and perspectives, and not rethink and doubt themselves like Phailbin did every game. It's unlikely but it also shakes things up a bit and takes the team out of the norm

We hadMarino. Are you saying after the current qbs, there will never be any superstars again?

Absolutely not. Im saying the chances of us landing a Marino or Brady or Manning are slim. Could happen, but slim. Only because those types of players dont come around that often.

elephant in the room I was referring to………is that though Hickey, Tannenbaum and surely not this idiot Philbin…….the personnel decisions on this particular team along with coaching have put them in the precarious place they are in……….to once again start the year with this offensive truly "offensive" line, without a true safety and corner, with only one viable linebacker and only one running back…………..the fans new this team was flawed and on top of that overcome a pathetic coach……we were doomed for disaster….that being said needless to say Im rooting for Campbell, and the new young staff and hope that the alpha players on the team rise to the occasion and dominate….its not too late.
