Golden Tate At 12.....

Is it safe to say all the people who viewed Golden Tate as a slot guy in the NFL may have changed their minds?

personally like Damian williams and Arellyous Ben and Demaryous thomas (sorry i cant spell these guys names for ****) better for us then tate. either way. i dont want a WR in the first round. i dont get why people want it so bad when there are other real needs on the team. Brandon Graham/Sean Weatherspoon/Jerry Hughes/Earl Thomas... any of these guys would be great additions to our defense. hughes can probably wait till the 2nd round but i threw him in there for sheer fact id rather reach for him then golden tate. those guys are are all realistic draft picks at the 12. there is no question, minus earl thomas maybe. that they will all be available to us, and clearly huge uprades. great players who also fill a need.

He still is, why would that change now? Because he ran a high 40 when there's plenty of game tape to show he doesn't play that fast on the field, where it really matters?

Sure, if were just talkin 40 times, thing that impressed me most was his route runnin, likely the best out there today....thats a nuance that many wideouts have to home for a year or two, and prevents them from contributing quickly

40 time is the icing on the cake. Spiller has a body of work that has to be taken into consideration.

If you think Tate is a "second tier player", you might want to go back and watch some film of him.

Not meant as an insult, but relatively speaking. He is NOT a top 15 pick.
He would be terrible value at that spot in the draft.

I don't want Golden Tate anywhere in the draft!

There is absolutely NO WAY I would even remotely consider taking Tate a 12!!!

I respect Tate's big play potential. He had a great 40 time.

He fights stronlgy for the ball even though he is a body cather. My biggest cocnern are his hands. He looked like Roberto Duran in the gauntlet drill.

I would much rather go with a TE - Pita, Graham or Hernandez in the third if they fall that far. I feel they would be a much better improvement to our passing game then Tate (or most any other WR) in the second.

This guy doesn't even know who the players are in the draft, and you guys are taking his thread seriously?

PUHLEEEEZZZ don't let this be another year where the swami and crew have that "HUH...."look on their faces.

Too many people are caught up in this perception of value slots and whatnot. You have to go back to the Bill Walsh way of thinking. It doesn't matter where you took them, it matters whether they're good or not. Golden Tate is a good football player that I see needing somewhat of a redshirt year while he gets some bad catching habits corrected.

He's extremely good after the catch. He has great eyes for the football in the air and the ability to change his gait to adjust to it. He's genuinely fast. He's physical. He's feisty. He is not tiny as some people say, solidly built at around 5'10" and 200 lbs.

At the end of the day you're not picking values, you're picking football players.

he may have dropped 4 passes total his last two years. he led college in recieving totals. he ran a great 40. he plays like hines ward. you wouldnt take hines ward with the 12th pick? and there are people who say benn is better than tate? watch the field of play, thats what matters! benn sucks. he is like derek hagan.. tate has the best hands in the draft, runs like a running back after the catch. played the wildcat in college. returned kicks for touchdowns. what does this guy need to do to prove himself? the best recievers in college played for notre dame last year. who was better tate or floyd? i would draft tate at 12.. watch some football people dont watch the measuring tape
